Loved the talk about emotions being valid! I went through something 2 years ago (a robber saw my phone and grabbed it from me and smashed it, also tried to take other things from me but I resisted), and recently watched someone go through something similar where I worked. And I felt so scared and so many emotions and I felt guilty because I wasn't the victim, but it reminded me of what had happened to me and the feelings came back. Feelings are valid, and you did an excellent job explaining it. And while most of the people in my life get it, the next time anyone gives me any flack I'm going to pull up this part of the video because you explained it so well!

Take time to remember the memories and please take care of your self as your continue to process your feelings. All grief is unique and flows through time. It’s natural to feel guilt. I’m so glad you have Matt and Stella to provide comfort.

Carter your story really hit home. I lost someone very special to me in October of 2020. This person was my first best friend and eventually we tried to date in high school, but it just didn't work. When he passed away I felt so guilty, because I hadn't talked to him in about 7 years. I found out through an obituary posted on Facebook one morning. I had to hold myself together and teach high schoolers all day, because it was to late to call off. It was one of the hardest days of my life. Agian the guilt kept hitting, because I knew he had so many people he was closer to in the last couple of years. My mom told me the same thing your dad did for you. We are allowed to feel what ever we want, because these people had an impact on us. You will have hard days for a long time, but eventually those reminders of your person will make you smile. I just wanted to share this with you, because greif is hard and your not alone ❤

I'm so sorry for your loss, Carter. Your feelings *are* valid, always. May your memories bring you comfort during this hard time. Take care of yourself.

Oh my gosh! I do the same book-collecting with Pride and Prejudice because it's my favorite! The best present my husband ever got me was for our first Christmas together - he found this beautiful vintage copy with hand drawn illustrations. Honestly my pride and joy

First off, I woke up this morning to a 58 minute video from Carter?! 🥹🥰 What a great way to start my Monday. Secondly, I wanted to say I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. My heart hurts for you. I wish I could come across the screen and give you a big hug! I’m so glad you have a great support system like Matt and your family. I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve been extremely fortunate that I haven’t lost someone. At the age of 24, it’s a blessing and a curse at the same time. The day I do lose someone, I know it’ll be extremely difficult. I know I’ll have my fiancé who will be a great support system. He’s unfortunately lost both of his grandparents, uncles, and his own father. He’s the strongest person I know. Grief is extremely different from person to person. He’s a lot like you where he keeps himself busy. Sending you TONS of love and support. Please take time for yourself. ❤️
