Hey Daren. I miss your videos so much! Any kind of an update would be great especially with the background music. I’ve gone back and watched your previous videos many times in anticipation of the next video. I just love the machining aspect.

I agree with James Beuregard, heating your engine to high temps with a can of race fuel right behind it is classic. I hope you have the fire department on speed dial... great series

There is some real quality engineering going on here. Very impressed with the standard of your work and thinking. I did some work for a customer who wanted a V8 race engine made from two four cylinder bike engines. It was an awful lot of work but made a very powerful and compact engine. Always wondered if same could be done with two 600 cc bike engines to make a 1200cc V8 motorbike engine? Would sound awesome and look stunning.

I can tell you I was extremely nervous about it! I tried to get a friend to weld for me and he tested on some leftovers but he thought I had way too much time invested in it already for him to mess it up ;) So I did it myself anyway. So far it's all looking good :)

the laser temperature meters dont work well on reflective surfaces , spraypaint the alignment part black and it should work ok
@Hollaendaren
@Hollaendaren 5 жыл бұрын
I found it was consistent if I measured in the right spots. But yeah they're reading all over the place otherwise.
@CoryFritz1
@CoryFritz1 5 жыл бұрын
Heat reflects off of aluminum very well. When getting a temperature measurement off of bare aluminum what can happen is your body heat and other surrounding energy source will be factored into the reading. The best way to avoid this is spraying an thermally emisive paint such as a matt black. Or a more temporary solution is electrical tape, with almost a .98 emisivity rating it always works great.

Yea skip those pins, that big bar is doing all the work. I might put a thin layer of spotting blue on that bar, to make sure those bearing surfaces are hitting all the way around. Straight and true. But looks like your welding now.
@Hollaendaren
@Hollaendaren 5 жыл бұрын
I think the pins are for axial alignment, without them the top half could be too far to the left/right. The bar won't help there. Yeah I'm already done welding, so far it all looks pretty good :)

Hi, how are you? I am Argentinean two days ago that I wrote to your channel out of curiosity and keep the big 2t, very cute walk your snowmobile, monkey cylindrical walks very well, bicilindrico is very good, the tricilindric is a fight, now with that four cylindrical would be a crazy thing !!!!! Question for more months that falls snow why is this means of transport used a lot ???
@Hollaendaren
@Hollaendaren 5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I haven't received any messages. I can't wait to see if and how this 4 cylinder will run, hopefully it will be done by spring time! :) Most people don't really use it as a main form of transportation, it's just for recreation, like dirtbikes except for snow :) Except a lot more people here have snowmobiles than dirtbikes, literally almost everyone outside the cities at least and a lot of people in the cities too. Our roads are plowed and stuff so driving a car is not a problem, we're not cavemen ;) But if you want to get out into the forest and enjoy the views you'll need a snowmobile. Most of my projects here are for racing but I have a couple of regular ones too.
