“If you came to my place and looked at my bookshelf for awhile and then asked me for some book recommendations” is what every reader thinks is going to happen when they have guests over lmao

I followed you because of a Franzen book you recommended (I've read two of his books back then and enjoyed them), but it's honestly so cool to see how our taste in book matches. I'm a huge fan of Donna Tartt and started All about the horses recently

I would love to recommend Brandon Sanderson! His series Mistborn and his stand-alone Treas of the Emerald Sea are my personal favorites, but all of his books are worth a read!

Cormac is my fav author, I've read almost all King. Goldfinch was great. I think we'd get along. Cormac and King are my go to for recs.

Intellectuals seem to shun literary fiction if it is narrative. Wouk, Stryon, Clavell. Why?

Why is this called “casual book recs”? You only mentioned long and dense books
@sugoish94612 ай бұрын
Because it's like a friend giving their advice, not really like someone who spends a large amount of effort and time into creating the "perfect" professional recommendation lists
@lesryglrhfohserАй бұрын
He meant it like “book recs for casuals”

Stephen King? Maybe entertaining, in a B movie at the drive in on a $8 per car load kind of entertaining- I mean, it’s something to do…
@Ironworthstriking18 күн бұрын
Have you read a Stephen king book? 11/22/63 is hardly any of those things.
