Really excellent tips, Tomasz! Thanks! 😃 I bought a 12" thicknesser and planer, but I'm still a bit scared to use it. 😂 I'm going to look for someone around who could help me with it. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Thank you. No need to be scared of it, have respect for it and you will be just fine. Shallow passes, use push blocks and it will be fine

Thank you. This is a very entry tool but the next one up is so much more expensive that it's just not feasible for most DIYers to get. But you can still get done decent results with it👍

Does grain direction matter what why you run it threw??
@CasualDIY
@CasualDIY 2 жыл бұрын
It's best to run it with the grain as on some occasions if you run it against the grain you may get some tear out in fibers

Hi Tomasz, Helpful introduction. I like your suggestion to retract the guard a bit so you can move the push blocks evenly across the cutters. I find it quite awkward doing this with guards across the whole width of the blade so you need to lift the leading block over the guard at the start of the cut. Looking at your ruler at the begging it looks as if your infeed table is sloping slightly down at the end furthest from the cutters. Does this matter? I hope the gas keeps coming! Mike

I think it was just the camera. But even if, you are putting pressure on the outfeed table so it should not matter that much. Well according to our government we got gas 🤔

Hi. When I push the wood along the jointer blades the front end and back end of the wood is cut by the jointer blades but the center of the wood does not touch the blades. Can you advise how to fix this issue please?
@CasualDIY
@CasualDIY 4 ай бұрын
Silly but obvious question, is the board not bowed? If the machine is cutting then its more of a technique used or the board itself is bowed, twisted etc.
@richardd9867

Thanks for the fast reply I really appreciate it. No the board is fine just a little rough. I measured the board width and it's the same measurement along the whole board.

I have a feeling the outfeed table is not level and I don't think that can be adjusted, would that cause the issue?
