Preston Pipelines and Sanco are about the only big pipeliners left out of San Jose now. Ernie Pestana, W.H. Ebert, L.J. Krzich, Misson Piplelines, Ramos Pipelines (Hawyard), Pioneer Underground - all gone! All of them gone now. I think even West Valley Underground doesn't do as much as they used to. I think Sanco still paints some of their equipment green. W.H. Ebert was all orange. Ernie Pestana painted everything yellow. Ebert and Pestana were hard core 'old school' - lots of heavy equipment with 2-cycle diesel engines (Koehring, Michigan/Clark, etc.). Times have changed.

I liked that 50’ hole at the end you sloped it out right and put benches where it was needed. I’ve been doing a smaller scale project setting 72”with a cat 349 going 31’ deep. It’s my first sanitary job done pipeline all my life.

Just did a 72" pipe job with a 349 cat seemed to be a little underpowered but got it done 16k pipe sections with a shield a round 18k was fun walking it to the hole
@kaleip
@kaleip 3 жыл бұрын
@LionelRichiesCrackpipe oh no joke it digs like a monster but better to have the bigger machine for the lifting part you can crank up the power but you have to be the owner and have a code which changes the emission dynamics personally I dont think the 349 equates to the old school 345 cat or even the 235b think the 349 is 105k but a 16k pipe section you can feel the machine load up the weight , old 235b retired at our yard picked it up like a rag doll but had a big counterweight

For culvert pipes and draining our former OSHA safety officer accepted rope ladder, really sweet because you can order from 10'-200' if needed be certified and all. Check your local safety supply as they are easier to have on the truck and transport. Only difference is you will need to be on a harness and yo yo while on rope ladder in which in reality is a much safer option than just climbing a triple decker ladder without fall pro. Really cool new ones have just came out within the last few years as pipe safety has had an overhaul within the industry. Just hope you'd have a chance to look it up and have a convo with your boss man to see if this would be a viable option for your outfit.

@TheLeverMonkey
@TheLeverMonkey 3 жыл бұрын
No equipment was allowed within 50 feet of the top of the dig. A crane would have to be able to pick that load and reach 100ft to set it. That was too expensive of a crane, would of eaten up all the profit for the job.
