I carry mine clipped in my pocket in and out of my truck and up and down on flatbed trailers to tarp and strap loads and have never once had any issues with it flipping open.

I have always carried a pocket knife and this fastback is by far my favorite. I got mine on sale for $15 so I bought 2 of them.

I've been using the 4822-1995 spring assist for over 10 years and love the knife. I use it on boats, rigging, setting moorings, etc. I love that the blade pops open strongly, because when you're hanging on with one hand and reaching to cut with the other, you don't want to be fooling around with your thumb trying to push open or flip open a manual blade. It's never opened up in my pants or anywhere else by accident. It's like any other tool. You get to know it and use it intelligently, it will serve you well. Two criticisms: I just wish it had a shackle slot in the blade, and that the body was a little thicker. That's it.

Awesome review video! I have the Milwaukee 48-22-1990 and love it. I am glad that I did not get the Tanto one or the similar Dewalt one. The wire clips are great due to they will not scratch or cut anything while on the outside of your pocket. I have a couple of old Klein utility knives (Made in USA) that are great. They are a little difficult to open, but safe. I also bought a small Buck knife with a metal clip. I can't keep it in my pocket due to it could just open. There is no mechanism to keep it closed.

I carry the 1995 every day as an HVAC tech in crawl spaces, attics, etc. Not once has it ever opened on me ever. As a matter of fact, it's a little hard to open at times. I also have no complaints what so ever on the style of the blade. But that's just the everyday working carrier's opinion

You can get a Camillus seize 2 and a Kershaw Hotwire (I have 2 of each so I highly recommend!!) for $11-$12 after taxes the Kershaw is a gentleman’s knife with speedsafe and bronze washers (reverse tanto modified warrencliffe blade) and the Camillus is just on smooth Teflon/nylon washers (drop point blade) I really like EDCin the Hotwire it’s so light.... EDIT: can get these 2 at Walmart I wanted to mention and again I highly recommend each knife especially the Hotwire for EDC!!

Had mine for over 6 years. Spring is gone i like it better.

I love these milwakee knives. The only time I had an issue with it opening on it's own was if i dropped it. It would pop open every time. And one time i was barefoot and it hit my foot first then flung open. Luckily it didn't cut me.

The 1990 is one of my favorite knives of all time.

The strong spring wouldn't bother me but everything else would. My 1999 Kershaw goes everywhere I do, has good assist, has a safety, and was made in the US. It WAS over $50 though. It is nice and slim in the pocket.

Milwaukee last Christmas had similar to the knives you have but with black metal cases. I purchased them here in NJ. In NJ spring assisted knives are illegal. The open mechanism is similar to the Kersaw knive you used.

If you want a blade to carry on a construction site, stick to the "utility" blades. Construction sites are "harsh environments". The ability to change out the blade when it's dull or caked with "crud" actually increases the amount youll use the tool. I'll explain... Back when I was younger and in construction, I was guilty of carrying a knife that was so expensive, I found myself NOT wanting to use it unless it was to cut up my lunch... LoL. Which is ridiculous, I know. When I was working, and something needed to be cut, scraped, or stirred I would run back to the "gang box" to grab a utility blade to avoid scratching the "large Sebenza 21" in my pocket. It took me a few years of this until I realized it was ridiculous, I eventually smartened up and started carrying a Gerber EAB (which is a folding utility blade) and much more suitable for a construction site....

If your looking for a Milwaukee work knife get the Hardline version. I bought the 3 1/2" p/n 48-22-1999, but they also have a 3" & 2 1/2" . Full retail price on these are expensive, but you can get them on sale. I got the 3 1/2" one for $35 at tools plus & for that price its there best knive by far. Very heavy duty with a d2 blade.

I hate serrated blades and I prefer a flip blade. I don't mind a tanto tip but serrations are useless and difficult to sharpen. Good video

I had a Kershaw with that locking system (the body lock on the Milwaukee). Loved it until I broke the flakey tip, reground it and used it until the lock started letting go while it was in my pocket. Had been wondering about those Mil pocket knives, but I bought a shiny Gerber Straightlace the other day.

I like Milwaukee knives as they look more toolish . If kept with a tool belt shouldn't have any trouble with the cops .

The tonto blade is for mechanics gasket scraper that's why it has that.

I own a model 48-22-1990 which I modified for one hand opening by deleting the stupid blade lock/unlock button and by adding the thumb studs and a retention dimple on the blade. Now it's like most any one hand opening edc knife out there, the way it should have been right from the beginning in my opinion.

I just impulse bought this knife without reading reviews because I needed a new one in a pinch, now after seeing reviews I kind of regret buying it as of right now
