As a magnetic resonance imaging professional, having something like this implanted, may prevent you from having critical imaging done such as stroke assessments as this can be quite unsafe in MRI given the interaction with the magnetic field and radio-waves. I seriously hope companies producing this do the proper ASTM testing and consult MRI safety professionals before mass production and implantation.

Neuralink has a Twitter page as well as Elon they both give updates on this company. As for the hospital/patient information that is private as all medical info is, however Neuralink has a facility in Austin Texas and in Fremont California. So I’d imagine to procedure took place close to one of those places.

The implant is called N1, it’s an early design from what the company anticipates to have to evaluate severe neurological diseases and disabilities. Next step is inputting signals into disabled limbs not the brain to regain motor function. I tried to provide more information than speculation, I know it’ll help, because the comment section is inundated with future dystopian sci-fi fans with animosity towards Elon’s wealth, and just copy each other’s comments. Yep, if he can remotely disable your car, he'll surely be able to control everything about you, your body, and everything else your brain controls. Imagine what posts he'll make everyone do, or who they vote for... or if they drive off the road, etc... The scale of the dangers is infinite.

They won't get any info about our thoughts if we just don't think. Although, couldn't this be used to remote control a human body and mind in every way?

@jozsefbiro1849 you're right. It could also be used to make people vividly relive memories on loop. Or put people into the actual matrix lol, not good.

No it cannot. The fibres implanted in the brain cannot stimulate the neurons. They can only detect signals. However, for patients who have lost the use of their limbs due to spinal injury, there will be implants in either the spine or limbs that will read the signals from the brain to cause movement in the limbs. It might be possible for someone to spoof the signals to those devices and make the person move. I'm sure they have thought of that, though.

since everything is electric impulse you could induce some false electric impulse and obtain a forme of though control
