People panic over CDRs, but I've been told by SSA workers absolutely not to make myself sick over them (43 and been disabled 20 years) just to continue seeing my doctors and they would be fine. 125k out of 1.5million is about 10%, and I would be willing to bet that a great deal of those whose benefits ceased were the ones who didnt fill it out on time (or at all), who had started working again or who had stopped all medical care. Basically 9 out of 10 CDRs went through just fine and benefits were continued.

but its about 25% of the people who get the long review. i am so disabled, docs refuse to make appointments....so i don't have medical records for the last year, my 2022 doc was abusive (narcissistic personality disorder) her records should be good, but she could sabotage me out of spite. my last appointment with her was 14 months prior to my review that is just starting. about a dozen doctors have refused me care in the last year

@110311DONTWANTCHANNE where are you getting that statistic of 25%? The stats they showed here didn't give a specific number for just long form that I saw. What is the primary reason you were disabled if I may ask? What reason are all these doctors giving you for refusing you care?

@@spinstercatlady the reason, is i need a very simple disability accommodation that is readily available to them for free and will just take a few extra minutes, but that doesn't fit into their work flow. it is a blatant violation of ADA/504, but not a damn thing I can do about it since USDOJ and other enforcement agencies are just a waste of tax dollars and enable them...besides why force it, they will only mistreat me if I do force it

Facing the sudden termination of Social Security Administration (SSA) Disability Benefits, like in the case of the mentioned 125,190 individuals, can be a daunting challenge. Understanding the reasons behind such terminations and navigating the complex appeals process requires expert knowledge. This is where seeking guidance from a qualified advisor becomes invaluable.
@mariadrukker2557

Indeed, The termination of SSA Disability Benefits not only brings financial strain but also introduces a myriad of legal and bureaucratic hurdles. An advisor well-versed in Social Security regulations can provide crucial insights, help assess the reasons for termination, and guide individuals through the often overwhelming process of appealing such decisions.

Having personally experienced the abrupt termination of my SSA Disability Benefits, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of seeking professional advice. The complexities involved, be it medical assessments or legal nuances, are challenging to navigate alone. An advisor specialized in disability benefits can make a significant difference in reinstating crucial financial support.

I just got my award letter and you said at time stamp 5:05 I'd find information giving me insight on when my CDR intervals might be. In the, "The Things to Remember" section of my award letter SSA just says, In addition to this standard Award Letter SSA is also sending me a large print version of this Award Letter in another separately mailed envelope. There is nothing else at all said about any CDR update intervals. I'm in my mid-60's and very disabled. I have 13 different disabilities. My health is deteriorating not improving. What does it mean when SSA says nothing at all about CDR's or their timing in the "Things To Remember" section of the award letter? I always worry about everything.

If youre in your mid 60's, your SSDI will convert into regular Social Security when you reach your regular retirement age. At your age, 65, You shouldn't be concerned about a CDR.

What I'll never understand is why with someone like myself not just one but 2 so deaf in one and hearing loss in other as well as T1D, hearing will never get better, they should know that, so CDRs then for me are pointless, as long I still keep seeing Drs of course which I do. But previous to all this for me is why they with my 2 conditions they kept denying me when it was so obvious that, I'd have a way harder time with work anyway!

Hello, I understand that the Continuing Disability Review (CDR) process can seem complex, and I'm here to help clarify it for you. When the Social Security Administration (SSA) conducts a CDR, they may initially send you a short form, known as the SSA-455, or a long form, known as the SSA-454. These forms collect basic information about your current health condition, any recent medical treatments, and work activity. If, after reviewing your SSA-455 or SSA-454 form, the SSA needs more detailed information, they will send you a Disability Update Report, form SSA-3441. This form asks for more in-depth information about your medical condition, treatments, and how your disability affects your daily life. The Disability Digest has released a comprehensive Continuing Disability Review (CDR) course to help members prepare for and pass their review. Three of the ten segments have been released on our KZfaq channel. If you are a member, ask us to start the course for you by emailing support. If you are not a member yet, then click here to join us: bit.ly/34wviJY. I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have more questions. Best, Benny Fit

@@TheDisabilityDigest Thanks! Is not form SSA-3441for appeal??? I have another question: they send me Form ssa-827 to sign and short form CDR form SSA-455, my understanding is when they send people form SSA-455, they do not send Form ssa-827 to sign because they do NOT review medical report. Am I correct? my understanding is they send Form ssa-827 to sign ONLY to people received long form SSA-454. Am I correct? Do they review medical report for those received form SSA-455 at initial determination whether or not decide to renew it?(my understanding is after review SSA-455, if they decided to have medical review, ONLY THEN send for ssa-827 to sign, Am I wrong?)

but were most of those 1.2 million just the quickie short form...125K out of about 500k is ALOT of terminations I got the quickie form maybe 4 times, this time they went for the long form. problem is i am so disabled, docs refuse to see me, so i don't have good medical records from the last year. one about 14 months ago, might have good records, but she also has narcissistic personality disorder so I don't trust her records. About a dozen doctors refused me care in the past year..just would not make an appointment and therefore there are no records.

@@kennethfreeman6072they did that for my initial application. doc just did a quickie physical and blood work...did NOTHING to prove or disprove my case ...sure won't help with no medical records. I have seen a couple, but they were QUACKS...paid no attention to me. takes 5 months to get an appointment with a new PCP, when that doesn't work, you have to wait another 5 months for another one. this is how it went: ME-I am having a debilitating symptom GOD OF MEDICINE-thats not good (moves on to something else) ME-its a problem GOD-I'm sure it is---see you in 6 months. I tried EVERY specialist I could possibly get to that takes medicare...they don't have openings for months to the point they aren't taking appointments (or so they say), won't even put me on the wait list ....some outright say they can't treat me. There really had only been 2 specialists in my state that actually treated my specific condition. 1 retired and the other moved out of state. Others technically are specialist of record, but don't actually treat my exact condition.

Let's first go back a step and try and understand what does the acronym CDR even mean! If an acronym is used, you can't expect the general public will understand what it means. As a courtesy for everyone else, you should at least spell it out in parethesis. Every sector of government, work, school, life in general will have acronyms. Will someone from the school field understand a medical acronym? Or will someone from the medical field understand a military acronym? 🥱
@TheDisabilityDigest
@TheDisabilityDigest 6 ай бұрын
I completely understand your point, and I apologize for any confusion. In the context of Social Security Disability, CDR stands for Continuing Disability Review. This is a process where the Social Security Administration (SSA) reviews your case periodically to verify that you still have a disability and are eligible to receive benefits. You're absolutely right that acronyms can be confusing, especially when they're used without explanation. I appreciate your feedback and will strive to ensure that all acronyms are clearly defined in future communications. If you have any more questions about the CDR process or anything else related to Social Security Disability, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help. Best, Benny Fit
