Comedian Mike Finoia joins the show and details his love for The Grateful Dead and Phish. He and Adam then talk about statutory rock songs and the lost art of driving a car with a manual transmission. Mike then talks about his dog doing commercials and Adam complains about a dog that was on set while filming his movie Road Hard. Chris then shares some stories about The Beatles and The Rolling Stones releasing new music.
Cedric the Entertainer comes in next and talks about growing up in Missouri and taking typing class in high school. He then explains why he cut off a $25,000 fund he used to set up for his family every year. Adam and Chris ask him about The Kings of Comedy tour and what it was like to perform at Michael Jordan’s parties. Lastly, Cedric comments on Tracy Morgan’s aquarium collection and DJ Khaled’s golf game.

I helped my brother move from Chicago to Denver years ago and learned how to drive a stick basically the night before. On the side streets in Chicago. Then drove straight thru to Denver the next day and flew back home from Denver. Ended up flying out to Denver and driving that same car back to Illinois when he moved back. Fun times. Used a paper map, no cell phones. Quaint. 19 year old of today could handle that, right? Right.

@@WKRP187 He moved back to Illinois, but not Chicago. Then I helped him move from that place to where he's at currently. If we didn't have family here in Illinois, none of us would stay. This was also 25 years ago or something, it wasn't quite the shitshow it is today.

I grew up in the US in the 80s. I would say 80% of us knew how to drive a manual.my first 2 cars Honda Accord and VW Jetta had stick. It seems year 2000 and current there are very few new vehicles sold here with manual. My 2 sons nearing 16 ( driver age in my state) and Im gonna buy a VW GTI with a stick to teach them for this reason alone .

First off I loved Mike and the talk about music. I really enjoyed the conversation about musicians making songs about under age girls. There's a point to be made there based off especially those older songs. I was happy to learn about his comedy special and from the taste we got of his comedy I was loving it! What a great time this show was with also the likes of Cedric the Entertainer! He's such a cool down to earth dude. The novel sounds good and the meme documentary definitely sounds great!

My mom taught me to drive a stick when I was 15, way back in the mid-70s. She took me to the L.A.County Fairgrounds Parking Lot out in Pomona ( Months before the fair opened in September ) and we had all the room in the world to practice. I can't imagine getting unrestricted access to the Fairgrounds parking lot today, but back then the area was open and basically unsupervised. Good Times!

If you ever want to rent a car in Europe, most of the rental cars there used to be mostly manual transmission. At least that's how it was last time I rented a car abroad. I confess, that was about 10 years ago though so maybe it's changed.
@DogBoy1993
@DogBoy1993 8 ай бұрын
Still a mix and the rental car agency apps normally point it out. I think Manual is cheaper, but not by much. And some cars actually have an option to switch from manual to automatic, but the shifting and clutch are on the wheel, not on the floor - so it is electronic. I hated it.

@@lancairw867 I’ve never watched but that’s good to know in case I ever try it haha. My dad taught me to drive stick when I was 16. He had the best technique - at the time we lived in a small town in Utah. He drove me out to the foothills to a loop road he had scouted out. He drove me around the loop a couple times showing me how to use the clutch and change gear. Then, he hopped out and said “I am going to hike this loop while you drive it again and again. I want you to stop on the hill and practice starting on a grade. I’ll flag you down when it’s time to go home.” I drove around and around that hilly loop and it was so relaxing without the pressure of having someone in the car with me. The loop wasn’t too long, maybe half a mile, so if I’d had any trouble I knew my dad was close. And it was less stressful to him because he didn’t have to feel me jerking the car or grinding the gears. There were no other cars so didn’t have to worry about that. He got a good hike and I was a pro after about an hour. It’s one of my fondest memories of learning to drive.

Michael never was super tight with Scottie- Scottie never got the attention he should’ve gotten, but I think he always had a chip about it and when he was being a baby about his contract, Michael did have patience with him- nor should he have. Scottie was told by *many* people not to take that deal, including Papa Jer, who explicitly told him it was a pisspoor deal, and if he signed it, Jerry would hold him to it, there will be no renegotiation. And he signed it and Jerry Reinsdorf kept his word.
