Cervical cancer update! The hysterectomy is less than one month away. My doctor’s office has postponed my surgery twice already so we will see what happens. For now I am scheduled to have it on April 5th. Thank you for all of the love and support. We feel it and are so so grateful.

Not sure how I found you but wow!! I’m a Mother of 3. Found out I had ovarian cancer at 37. Had to have a full hysterectomy. 6 months chemo. Cancer free now for 1.5 years!! I don’t know you. But girl I’m praying. Faith in Christ, amazing husband and family pulled me through. Fear of the unknown is REAL! But God is so much bigger! Continued prayers!

May I ask how your ovarian cancer was diagnosed. My maternal grandmother passed from ovarian cancer because did course it was discovered too late. I’ve asked about testing but given the run around.

I was diagnosed last March and waited around 7 weeks for my hysterectomy, so i totally get the delays you are feeling. I kept my ovaries, my OncoGyno was very much like ' if you are under 55 and we dont need to take them , we wont take them out '. Apparently they help guard against heart disease and osteoporosis. Anyway good luck, my recovery was excellent , i hope yours will be too.

There you are! I’ve been thinking about you all. My little boy fell off the monkey bars and broke his arm too! We were able to get him an aqua cast that was required to get wet daily but then he could still shower daily. That was news to me, I had never heard of such a thing. God bless you all 🙏🏻

Hi. I went into medical menopause at 44 from chemotherapy for breast cancer. My menopause experience was a breeze. I had one hot flash. I would have preferred NOT to be in menopause at that time, but if it helps, I didn't have a hard time. Lots of prayers for your health and your surgery.

I didn’t feel much change for a few months and then started getting joint pain and stiffness and occasional hot flashes and nighttime waking. I’ve been taking 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseeds a day which I feel help a lot. I also am making sure I get more vitamin D, calcium, and soy. Epsom salt baths, magnesium lotion and hot yoga help w joints. Turmeric and ginger teas also assist. I tried chondroitin glucosamine for joints and bone health but had headaches that didn’t feel worth it. My body feels different w new set points but it’s going better and ok. And yes they took the ovaries. If even one is left menopause will not occur. 🌺

Jess, I've been meaning to comment and I'm sorry it's taken me this long. I'm about 2mo postpartum so that's my excuse although I still think it's a lame one. 😅 Idk if you remember me but I hope you do, I found your KZfaq channel very shortly after my 1st was born and we've messaged back and forth on IG a few times. I told you that you and your videos blessed me so much because I was so scared to become and mom and so anxious in the beginning. Now my 1st babe (not babe) is almost 4!! Lots of life has happened in between, lost a pregnancy very early in 2022, became a preschool teacher 1 mo later (😬) ((also only having a GED myself)) and then you started your podcast with Lane which was incredibly helpful, switched to being a nanny in 2023 and then found out I was pregnant 2mo later, and now have my 2nd lil man sleeping on my chest as I type this. Haven't kept up with you much during that time but wanted to share. 💙 Anyways I've followed you all this time and been so grateful for and deeply impacted by all you've done. You feel like my long-distance friend, although we've only talked a few times. When I saw you announce you had cancer I was so heartsick it took me a moment to watch the video. I also lost my closest family member in 2022 to cancer so I'm sensitive to it... but I wanted you to know that I love you and your family to pieces. So much to love about you I could go on and on. I wish I lived closer, I'd help watch your kids or bring you coffee or a meal, or just something to show my support and help you through this brutal season. I pray for you a lot. And I'm God's favorite, next to you, so I know you're going to be okay. 😜😜😜😂😁❤️ Anyway I just wanted to say that I'm here and I'm for you in the background and am so blessed by your life. ❤️❤️❤️ Might message you on IG to make sure you see this. Love you so much. ❤️

I'm 33, I have a hysterectomy coming up in May. I have a tumor on my left ovary, we don't know if it's cancerous or what yet. He said when he gets in there he'll most likely take my left ovary. So I'm a little nervous about what the future looks like. I'm glad that you finally have a surgery date. I hope that the surgery and your recovery goes smoothly!

Why are you getting a hysterectomy if the tumor is on your ovary? Genuinely curious
@brokebackwhale
@brokebackwhale 3 ай бұрын
@malibu64 I should have added, I also have adenomyosis. So periods are more like childbirth every month and I'd just rather not have to deal with that pain. I had actually went to my doctor originally for the severe pain and the tumor was discovered during an ultrasound. I guess in a way I'm thankful for the pain lol.

If you have adenomyosis, you likely to have an endometrioma on your ovary. Same happened to me. I also had a tumor on my ovary, I had surgery, because doctors weren't sure, what it was on my ovary. Pathology report came back and it turned out, I had stage 4 endometriosis. I was told adenomyosis and endometriosis also can be found together.@@brokebackwhale

As with everything there are risks and benefits to HRT, and risks and benefits to not havung HRT - for example, without it the risk of osteoporosis and significant fractures, like broken hips, is much much higher. Theres no one right choice, just the right choice for each individual person. Fingers crossed everythint goes smoothly from here on out

I don’t want to scare you, but if I were you I would do absolutely everything to prevent the surgery from being delayed anymore and to prevent the cancer from coming back, including additional surgeries and treatment. I am not a doctor, but I saw with my husband how weeks mattered when treatment was delayed. Hoping for the best possible outcome for you and that April 5 will be the last time your body ever has to deal with cancer!

Hysterectomy is a very successful surgery
@5Gburn
@5Gburn 3 ай бұрын
Okay so why has your surgery been pushed back twice? Was it scheduled at Harbor General or something? I mean, damn, it's cancer. And besides breast cancer, cancer in the pelvic area is more likely to metastasize to the bones. Sorry that's skipping into the potential future, but still. As for cancer appearing in a different part of the vagina, it was already there but was undetected at the time of surgery. Either that, or the patient has Lynch Syndrome and is prone to cancer. Either way sucks. I hope to the Big G that yours is a case of "one and done," and that April 5th hurries up and gets here.

I rejected a hysterectomy & radiotherapy & chemo (was told I'd most likely need all 3 "therapies") in favour of alternative therapy (basically detoxing my lifestyle). So relying on faith instead of fear. Zero regrets! Diagnosed with uterine C in mid-October 2022 and I'm doing very well. My symptoms have dramatically reduced, with no pain or suffering. Perhaps do some research before you go ahead, as it's irreversible. I recently undertook a survey with the Qld Cancer Alliance (in Australia) & apparently I'm the only one who has gone the alternative route, and the only one who is doing well. They surveyed 20 plus women. I think that says everything you need to know. It only took one week's research after the diagnosis to convince me that I wasn't going the conventional route.

🙏🏻 thinking of you. i agree people should seek out other options, but many dont want to look into it because it's so stressful that they just do what they're told. nothing wrong with choosing either method, but i wish people would be more informed that removal is not the only way
@CarmelSmythe
@CarmelSmythe 3 ай бұрын
Thank you, appreciate the reply & kind words. If diagnosed with C you need to strengthen your immune system, and conventional treatment only decimates it (chemo & radio). Surgery is also a huge stress on the body, and I've read there can be horrible life-long side-effects from hysterectomies too. I believe it's a brutal surgery and I've read several accounts where people claim it "destroyed" them. Surgery can also spread C and make the situation worse. It was a very easy decision for me. Haven't looked back @@hllymchll 😺

Strange... they did not gave me the option, they took out everything that was a risk for any further cancer. They were playing the safe card and l totally support that way to proced. I do not think keeping your ovaries is a good idea. Cancer is cancer. If you were my sister l would tell you let them take everything out, including your 2 whole ovaries. My 2 cents. I had endometrial adenocarcinoma stage 1 and the surgery was all I needed. That is 8 years cancer free! 🌺

So, wait. Color me this. Your husband just doesn’t work? And relies on you to bring home the bread? And now that you’re sick, it’s still on you and you’re stressed and eve more so struggling? The same dude who skateboards all day long? You will get through this and I hope you continue to do well after surgery, but you need to make his ass work girl. That’s all I know. You deserve better 💯
