Characters like Blackguard, Captain Boomerang, TDK, Javelin, Mongal, and Savant aren't exactly household names either, but "The Suicide Squad," believe it or not, digs even deeper into the vault to find some characters most DC fans have probably forgotten about. If you thought Polka-Dot Man and The Thinker were obscure, well, think again. Here are a few characters in "The Suicide Squad" who mean more than you realize.

I can’t explain why we’ve yet to see Crazy Quilt, Pied Piper or the Mad Mod in a good movie - let’s keep the DC clothing themed villain train moving .

When ratcatcher 2 put on that gas mask to keep the starfish from attaching to her face, it looks like it was a nod to the comic book ratcatcher who wears a mask much like that.

When I saw calendar man show up, that made me happy. Looked great, they went with the Arkham style. I still think he’s very underrated and could be a great villain in a movie if done correctly. It could be creepy as hell

@@cowgod1945 thats his schtick he only does crimes on specific days and when he does it involves that day's theme. like planting bombs in presents on christmas or having his henchman rob a bank on president's day stealing only bills with presidents (so no $100s or $10s) while wearing masks of presidents

It's worth mentioning Polka Dot Man's actor in TSS is the same guy who voiced Calendar Man in the recent excellent animated films based on The Long Halloween.

Bottom dollars it's Kaleidoscope because Crazy Quilt 2 had normal skin with a crazy costume Kaleidoscope's skin is a similar design.

I was so happy to see the Ratcatcher and Calendar Man in the film. They are two villains I wanted to see in live action, I was hoping they will appear in the show, Gotham, cause they would've worked very well in it. They are underrated villains that could've been done better to become sinister and creepy villains in the show. But it didn't happen, thank goodness for this movie to have their first live action appearances.

I was a bit disappointed that Jesse Metcalfe didn't have a cameo or a small role on The Suicide Squad as a nod to his character on Smallville being loosely based on Bloodsport. It would have been a neat Easter egg for fans.

Why is committing crimes on notable holidays "extremely stupid"? How is that any more stupid than any other villain gimmick?

The video maker is conforming to the typical general public's view on gimmick villains. Calendar Man wasn't that obvious a criminal because there are tons of holidays, he wasn't limited to major ones, and Riddler likewise was not predictable either, using deceptive clues and double meaning riddles in his puzzle crime sprees. Having a gimmick isn't stupid, just the need to commit crimes is. The average criminal thug in Gotham has no advantage by not having a gimmick either. In Gotham it can help get someone known. Without a gimmick you get forgotten.

It doesn't mean more, it's the pandemic most actors don't have jobs for a year, Gunn just get some credit for his own friends that's all. If you haven't noticed, the movie looks incrediblly cheap for its budget, it's the freaking pandemic.

If you compare Suicide Squad with something like Guardians of the Galaxy all characters are poorly made and hollow. Everything is just better with Marvel then with DC. DC is lightyears behind. DC is more for series then movies at best. Just compare Racoon with weasel. There is no team, just some characters plying for themselves. With Marvel you get that team feeling.
