if u code that engine; it's actually not that bad. let's make it simple with an example. if someone calls u for a fight. u can make a knife and stab him until he's just a pile of blood. in this sceneario the knife is the chess engine. which is terrible. don't bring knives to fights kiddos. especially don't bring a fucking butterfly to a fight. go with stick with a sharp flintstone. if u feel like it.

chess engines are quite hard to code, so ive heard from my dad. iirc with every move, the possible moves you can make on the board grows exponentially so since we dont have large enough storage for chess lines, our computers just calculate if a line is worth calculating and that takes some bit of skill for the coder.

1. it's like shoplifters. dumb ones are the majority, and they are easy to catch, but smart ones may go undetected for a very long time. by definition we cannot know how many stay undetected. but that minority of clever cheaters don't simply "copy and paste" engine moves all the time. not to mention different engines, even different versions of the same engine, will recommend different moves as the top lines. it's absolutely enough to use some obscure old engine (like Chessmaster, Fruity or whatever) to defeat almost everyone on the internet, you don't need to run the latest Stockfish (which is what anti-cheating algorithms generally detect). 2. no, cheating in unrated games isn't "okay at times". cheating isn't okay, period. just because i'm playing an unrated game doesn't mean it's fine to waste my time by deceiving me. online ranking points aren't really what i care about. but my time is what i care about. i have a limited amount of free time. if i wanted to play against an engine, i'd play an engine, on my own terms. when i want to play against fellow humans (rated or otherwise), then this is what i want to spend my time on.

I personally benifit quite a bit from this opening because I don't have to memorise 100s of moves and the setup works for almost every opening. Also I got some really good wins against people who get irritated after seeing it and then play irrational moves and blunder and lose and leave the game after abusing. That's what I like about this opening. It's very versatile, easy to learn and can be used almost anywhere with great efficiency. It was also used against Gary Kasparov and his opponent did fine. So idk what you guys always complain about it

i don't follow your argument. do you mean one's over-the-board Elo? the official, FIDE rating? (with the implication that it's harder to cheat in real-life tournaments)? two problems with that: a) most online players don't have an Elo rating, and even if they did, there's zero way to force them to submit it (admitting they're actually much weaker in real life, and thus inhibiting their ability to cheat online: but they can simply claim they have no rating, just like most casual players) b) i've only got Elo under classic time control (and in rapid, but that's hardly relevant because i only played 1 rapid tournament). online chess is very different, mostly revolving around blitz. the correlation between over the board performance and online performance may not be as strict as you'd expect: you can get a lot of practice and become pretty strong in online blitz while having a low ELO, and the other way round: someone with a high Elo may do poorly in online blitz, especially if it's an older person, not accustomed to playing with a mouse on the internet. and if you mean Elo system as in - rating in general (including online ratings, which are often Glicko etc.)... well, if you're cheating, you're gaining rating points by winning games, so your rating will be inflated, reflecting your artificial playing strength (you + your engine) instead of actual playing strength. so your rating will quite accurately measure how strong you are *when you're cheating*, correctly predicting further wins against strong players - BECAUSE YOU KEEP ON CHEATING.

Playing good moves and using an engine is almost undetectable unless you ALWAYS play engine moves and in this case, he doesnt play engine moves all the time so its undetectable
