You all know that I love Milwaukee Tools. One thing I love even more than their tools is unboxing their new tools. Part of the vetting process is comparing new and old versions of tools and seeing which one is actually worth getting for that job.

It is great to know that I am not alone buying tools as a white color guy but hardly working on anything. I just buy as just in case. Thanks for making me feel not home alone.

Same here. I have quite a few tools that I haven't used even once. Every now and then, though, I get to reach for a "new" tool because nothing else would work.

I have the Mid Torque and have ordered the New High torque. To be fair, the Mid Torque holds it's own on most things, so long as you're using it directly. But there are some moments where you'll need to use and extension or a wobble drive. That kills torque and especially for some tight bolts, the high torque comes in handy.

The black insert where the battery slides in is to stabilize the battery, so no more batteries jiggling/coming loose while you're ugga-dugga'ing away with the impact.

Insider ratchet is nice because you can get 4 ratchets with extra functionality. It comes with the ¼ and ⅜ anvils , and the ¼ bit adapter. Then the ½ anvil is available for purchase separately. So no more purchasing 3 ratchets.

That’s my thing. I don’t think the pass through function is that meaningful to me but the interchangeable anvils and the compact size is what got me to preorder

i have the midtorque and the m12 3/8 stubby in my cabinet. I find the midtorque can do just about anything, including honda crank bolts. The sockets look nice, i like tekton because they have a kit that has 8-38 with no skips, i wish other manufacturers would follow that lead and do more complete kits.

I love their impact sockets my only issue with Milwaukee is they make it so difficult to buy them all. Most of the kits don’t have every size they offer and you end up having to buy like 10 more individual sockets to complete the set. I spent countless hours searching to build out a complete set.

The new High Torque is definitely the way to go over the extended anvil. I would argue that for some car guys who are into trucks or older vehicles that may have experienced some corrosion, the high torque should be your first purchase...then the mid torque. The mid torque is an amazing tool and is the one I grab first, but I've definitely run into situations where it doesn't have enough punch and I have to step up to my old first gen high torque.
@gregmanzolillo8666
@gregmanzolillo8666 9 ай бұрын
Agreed, you can add an extension but you cant remove the anvil. You can also turn the gun down but the max is the max. I run the high torque all day 7 days a week as a millwright so it goes through more abuse than an average hard user, they take a beating and i havent considered going back to air once. If im not using that, im running the 3/4 but i use 2"-3" sockets pretty often. i run the same two impacts in my shop at home also, otherwise i step down to the m12 stubby. 250ftlbs removes most wheels and suspension components while giving me a cushion before breaking something. The high torque will not stop on a car

Did u find the same with 2967... as it too looks to move battery forward with new shock absorber... but the motor looks like it's moved back to counter this. Let us know. thx.

I'm glad I waited on the extended reach high speed ratchets, the Insider version will be making the cut for sure. Not quite as fast as the high speed, but close enough with slightly higher torque. Are you going to sell your old MTM foam cannons with QDs? I'm always looking for a deal. Did you check out the Hazet sockets with the plastic protector? They sell replacement sleeves for them so you don't have to chuck the entire socket. The Milwaukee impact sockets look great and I'll probably pick up a set, but I really like my Gray Pneumatic Duo impact sockets (1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive). They are impact rated sockets, but dimensionally are very close to chrome sockets (most impact sockets are substantially thicker). They are made in Taiwan and are nothing fancy, but its great to have impact rated sockets all the way down to 1/4" drive for my small impacts. My 3/8" and 1/2" sets have taken a lot of abuse and I haven't broken one yet.

Milwaukee tool with a Dewalt XR battery is the best setup…imho ( if your using the Milwaukee everyday at work the batteries have issues ) I think appearance is very important, Milwaukee kills it , always coming out with new cool stuff.. if you grab your normal tools you just use them. If you grab the Milwaukee sockets etc. that you were using everytime you grab them your thinking these look great, they’re awesome etc. it’s validating your purchase everytime you use them. ( which subconsciously is going make you believe buying Milwaukee is a good purchase, in turn increasing they’re sales . Super smart on their end ) I love Milwaukee stuff.
