This is Milwaukee's new line of impact wrenches which is a significant upgrade over the previous ones. They're a bit smaller and weigh less but provide more nut busting torque than before. Another key upgrade is the front LED lights which help when working in darker areas and also has a 4-MODE Drive Control which allows you to regulate the speed and IPM's. The 4th mode is an auto-shutoff mode which is used for hand tightening applications and auto stops.

I’ve used the mid torque on a full sized truck suspension before with no problems. It even pressed a set of ball joints in and out on my tundra. I think it’s perfect for a diy mechanic, but I live in the south and we don’t really get a lot of rust either.

The compact is amazing in the 3/8 version. The reason I say this is the power is low enough to mount torx, mortorq, hex, even socket screwdriver bits which most commonly are sold in 3/8 sizes. Using socket adapters is great in a pinch but the torq loss or length it adds is cumbersome.

You need to make your mind up. First you say you use the compact the least of all then you claim you use the high toque version the least of all. So which is it?

I bought the 2962 mid torque yesterday and tried it today. It did not match to stated specs...it would not produce 650 nut busting torque...it matched my old 2662 brushed impact...they would produce identical force...about 400ft lbs...it was a disappointing new tool...it is being returned.

I had the same problem with my 2962 mid torque and after I read that high output batteries should be used on fuel tools for the best performance possible, I bought a better battery, and I was surprised by the difference in power. It's like turning a v4 car to a v6.

@@jimmywarren6685 I would've returned mine if it wasn't powerful enough to keep up with my auto repairs. Depending on why you buy a power tool, less torque power is not always a deal breaker. I'm a fan of Dewalt and Milwaukee but I buy more Milwaukee power tools because they do have better customer service and longer 5 years warranty than dewalt's 3 years warranty which only covers recalls/defects. Try buying one Dewalt and one Milwaukee power tools. Milwaukee will break faster but you'll get it fixed free while except Dewalt batteries issues, it'll last longer but when it starts to break, just put on yard sales.

@@alfaralph7710 Do you recommend the Craftsman cordless ratchet?
@alfaralph7710
@alfaralph7710 Жыл бұрын
@@novavolks9652 It depends on what you want to use it for and on what you prioritize. I always prioritize torque over rpms on cordless ratchets because higher torque means easy to break free those rusted nasty bolts; while higher rmps mean faster tightning but not stronger. Craftsman has some good tools, I personally wouldn't go for anything lower than 45 ft-lb torque. Focus first on what you need it for, then choose accordingly.

If at the hardware store both the mid-torque and the high-torque were the same price ($249 tool only) what would you guys get if you're not doing super heavy duty and just really using it for lugnuts and other day-to days? I bought the high torque but now I kinda want to exchange it for the mid torque for it's size lol
