The +1% complex drone output is paramount to what makes rogue servitors so powerful. While this is an interesting build, it doesn’t truly replicate the power of rogue servitors.

On one hand having massive EC, CG and Unity income from trade fed is something I always enjoy. On the other this lacks the ridiculous bonuses servitors can reach. Too bad we can't have both ;)

An interesting build. I find chemical bliss useful for my genetically modified rulers on my thrall worlds in order to include the overall "happiness" on said worlds. Otherwise, I didn't dare to touch it.

I still think is better rogue servitor because of it's increase on specialist production by biographies. In an ecumenopolis world you can get insane levels of industrial production by having a good amount of biographies.

A bit late, but it still somewhat works post 3.6 so i'm going to add my two cents : you could make a scholarium out of your vassal and get your science that way. That eliminate more jobs. You could also play as a megacorp and get your food entierly through fast food chain office buildings. You could also use indentured servants, preferably of another alien race, and have them do all the science and alloy building.

Huh, did you find the "trade value by living standard" bonus of the culture workers not quite good enough to make a build out of? I'd assumed that's where chemical bliss was going when you'd mentioned using that monument bonus with an "unused living standard" in a prior video.

Yeah. Pop upkeep reduction is just better. As youre at 1 cg per pop base with chemical bliss. Sadly. I wanted to make the TV from the living standard work but it just didnt add much at all

This looks like something that might be fun on a void dwellers trade build. I wouldn't compare it to rogue servitors in terms of what it's good for though, although it kinda fits thematically.

Expell corporations needs to have a larger penalty. You can keep kicking them out but you'll have dozens of wars with that Casus Belli until you decide fuck it, neutron sweep their worlds.

@8:01 This kind of reminds me when I used to play with aristocratic elite. Everyone always said it was bad, but I liked the extra 10-15 stability it would give you. The noble house cost a building slot, but you would only put that on a very large planet, like a ecumenopolis, ringworld segment, or a size 20+ world that produced one type of basic resource. Everyone can act like they think that 5 stability isn't worth it, but when that 5 stability comes from a tradition tree, all of a sudden it's meta. Of course, now the civic has been dumpstered because now it's mutually exclusive with technocracy, which has become meta again for it's +1 research alternative. Now, by playing aristocratic elite, I'm actively making it harder to tech-rush. So rest in peace aristocratic elite. Your +15 stability will be missed.

Would it be better to swap out Masterful Crafters when getting the additional civic? I suppose the building slots are nice but I can't fathom artificers being of any use once you start steamrolling that trade, and the more traders you get the less blissed pops work elsewhere. Perhaps swapping it out for Meritocracy later on could work? You don't get Ruler jobs to muck up like with Technocracy that way. Didn't know the Synth Ascension perk stops uprisings, despite it being my favourite path. How did I not know this after 5000+ hours?

Chemical bliss should be bad but for it to fulfill it's function there should be more severe consequences to a moment of very low stability. It should be a crutch to push stability up as you work to fix the problem, it should come with significant penalties to production but might prevent a popular uprising.

Hey Montu! Or anyone else who’s like yo help. I’ve been trying to get into the multiplayer side of Stellaris, but there are a lot of ‘META’ builds that I have no idea how to play. Example: Necro Tech build? What is it? How to set it up? How to play it? Would be awesome if you make some meta build videos out. Also, apparently there are some rules or some specific traits, civics ect that aren’t allowed in multiplayer. Would be awesome to know what those are. Thanks heaps!

Basically you play most builds the same in the current meta: (0,75 tech, 30year peace, No Total War Civic, Usually Aquatic and Masterful Crafters arent allowed together and clone army cant ascent, also no KI Orgins, Im not a pro btw, so sorry if sth here is wrong ;)) Worlds: Homeworld: first I build 2 Energy districts, then housing districts and Research labs only and swap useless buildings for research labs also 1st Colony: Consumers Goods only with Civilian Economy Policy till year 15 or so to build a stockpile, then switch to Alloy world with militarised economy; try to rush alloy mega forges before that (you need mote technology before that and Industry Scientist), so you can hit around 150+ alloys per month 3rd world: Energy production Other: First Ascension will usually be +100 Edict Capacity, so you can Rush Energy Subsidys and just buy minerals and food (or build things with energy in the planet automation Tab!) You want to build 2 colony ships asap First tradition usually prosperity is the best Ships: Start building them, so they get ready at year 30, you gotta experience that for yourself :p Destroyers or Cruisers with Railguns and Plasma Weapons are usually the go to Builds: I dont play Necro Tech sorry, My Favourites are: Pokemon Trainer: Origin: Here be Dragons Civics: Masterful Crafters and Parliamentary System (Fan. Egalitarian, Militarist) Traditions: Prosperity into Unyielding Playstyle: Try to get 20k Power Station with defense Platforms by year 28 or so These should have shields and strikecraft tier 2 on everything, also on the starhold, stop researching society to store the research for the reanimator project Then switch Parliamentary system, or if you have the tech, add Reanimators Then attack the dragon with a ship and watch it die, you can now resurrect it with a science ship and call yourself master of a 45k leviathan with a jump drive Cult of the Clone Army: Civics: Masterful Crafters and Death Cult (Spiritualist, Authoritarian, Xenophobe (or Militarist if allowed together with Clone Army) Playstyle: Sacrifice Your clones after hearts Content, they will grow back in no time. Go for Harmony, it will skyrocket your stability and you can stay at -20 amenities no problem, If Ascending is allowed, do the Excavation Site asap and become a god

Via traits and multiple robot builds they'll naturally gravitate towards the most efficient jobs, you can speed/micro this with blocking and unblocking jobs to redistribute drones and they'll sort themselves.

It's a pity that you can't knock the criminal syndicate out of the being, well, criminal syndicate even if you conquer or vassalize them. Unless I forgot something and there is a way to force change of civics as part of conquest war goals(since we don't have peace conferences).

You can change your policy to all ow liberation wars, then declare a liberation war and remove the syndicate without conquering the empire

I think this living standart is great for a trade-based empire. If you Biologically Ascend, you can create different templates and give some of your pops thrifty. If you minmax it right, you end up having a fast-growing, thrifty and drug-abusing template as well as some resource-producing. By forcing growth, you can minmax your planets and get the best trade worlds because Resource Output doesn't matter for trade value and Hapiness --> Stability does. Especially in a recent trade-slave playthrough it worked very well. I had robots as alloy-producing jobs, my main species on chemical bliss as merchants and adminstrators and got a lot of Happiness that way. (btw my slaves were nerve stapled and I haven't researched Synthetics)

What's the value of Functional Architecture?

Functional Architecture helps kickstart empire economies with low investment. Building slots are hard to come by in the very early game. Sure you can get that build slot by building a city district, but then you also need the mineral cost and the time to build of that city district. So if you want that one more research lab, you're getting it earlier and it the mineral cost isn't as big a strain on the economy. Later on, when you have a stronger economy it's not a concern, and you'll notice Montu reformed out of it later (Master Crafters, Meritocracy, Environmentalist). I don't think it's the best start civic every game, but if you're planning on making heavy use of robots, you're going to be strapped for minerals early on and need your research faster to get those important robotic techs you need without falling behind elsewhere.

If you conquer a world full of pops with an ethic that is really incompatible with the way you run things, I could see chemical bliss as a temporary solution to keep them from rebelling while you wait for them to convert their beliefs. That is if you don't go with just enslaving them.
