The shawl is ziggily lovely! It was well worth all the fiddling to get it right because the tassels are delicious. And lovely socks as always. I'm still working on my first proper pair in years but once I've done a few dead plain ones and got them right for my feet and actually have an understanding of what I'm doing, I'll be up for the pick and mix!

The wrap turned out gorgeous! You do have an eye for colors. The Knit Picks Felici yarn is very soft, and I have socks in that very colorway. One thing though, I find they stretch more than the average sock so fewer stitches is best. I'm currently working on Christmas socks for my girls while visiting. As always it's such a treat to find a new episode and a chance to visit awhile. Have a lovely day!
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Oh thank you so much, I'm so glad you like it! Thanks so much for the tip about the Felici yarn too, I shall definitely bear that in mind when I make these up. Coincidentally, I was thinking that yarn would made lovely socks for my DD as well! S x

When are you going to teach us how to make that beautiful scarf ?😃
I agree with the 'bee in your bonnet' and think that getting the ends to match looks better. I made a wave baby blanket and the edge that I ended on does not match the beginning edge and it bugs me. I just went with it because I did not think of a way to change it.
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Yes sometimes these things do get to us don't they? I'm sure the blanket is beautiful though, matching edges or not! ;)

Besides the missing stitches, your ribbing looks wonderful🌟 Do you make it with a smaller size needles than what you use for the rest?

I am really interested in the pick your own sock pattern! I am a crocheter and am diving into knitting in the new year. What kind of yarn would you recommend for a first time sock knitter? Thank you so much for all of the work you have done, definitely a gift!
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Lilly Lane oh how exciting! Good luck with your knitting! Well generally speaking you need a 4ply (fingering) weight yarn with a nylon content of at least 20%, the other 80% being wool. I like Merino cos it’s soft, Bfl is also popular. If you are thinking of specific brands, I don’t want to be ‘the Stylecraft girl’ here but I can really recommend their ‘Head over Heels’ yarn. I haven’t tried too many other commercial yarns tbh, only Regia which I find quite thin. Hope that helps. ❤️❤️

Hi Sandra loving your new design 💕 I understand you're still in the process but I wanted to ask for a rough idea on yarn amounts.??? I thought I'd try and buy for it whilst Drops still had their 30% off. I was looking at their baby alpaca silk........Thank you so much love Claire xxxx
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Claire Pengelly oh thank you very much! For yardage I used about 310 yards for 4 of the colours and then 380 yards for the fifth colour. (I think that’s just because that colour was quite neutral and I ended up putting it in more. You could probably balance out the yardage a little more if you needed to.). Hope that helps. ❤️❤️

Perhaps you drifted off while working on the ribbing. That may sound ridiculous, but I did something similar last night. I was in very late crocheting a hat. At one point I realized that I had just woken up, and that I had crocheted about 5 stitches but forgot to place my stitch marker😂 I went to bed💤
@CherryHeart5 жыл бұрын
Actually, I know what you mean, I've been knitting and felt like I've almost dropped off before with my hands still moving. Not this time tho, the ribbing was kind of harder on the hands and a bit more effort than normal knitting and so definitely not in the 'dropping off' zone. Just a case of the brain going awol for a bit I think! 🤣 I did use a smaller needles for the ribbing btw... 2.75mm on a dk yarn! Hence it was a bit of a slog to work it, but I agree, the results look nice! S x
