Cherry ! Already got my attention. I work with it a good bit. Love the bowl.The last 1 l made , got down to last pass. An it popped in half. But glue an clamps put it back together.

A nice bowl. What was the starting size of the half log?

I think it was just under 8 inches by about 4 inches deep. Luckily not too many cracks.

What did you use to cut it down before mounting it to the lathe?

A quick trim with a jigsaw. One day I’ll have a bandsaw, or even the space for one.

I make them myself with a laser engraver on 3mm hardboard.
