I like that there is no dialogue in this video. You get right to business with no long intro or promotion, this is the speed that I'm looking for. I think it's an important comment coming from someone who self promotes a lot. Some may want the same video but with part names, explanation of situations where you run into trouble and such but you zoom right through it in like an accelerated day course. This tempo is what I need right now.

Been wrenching for many decades myself - I usually beat on a spindle as well to break the BJ free - but recently I've had pretty good luck applying pressure with a prybar then nailing that flat spot with a mushroom bit in my new IR air hammer! Far less violent, and reduces the chances of hitting something that wasn't meant to be. Like the time I had a hair of bad aim and nailed the connector for the ABS sensor. :(

You should start adding titles on your video thumbnails to attract attention to your videos and share your videos through social media if you have it. Also, the parts of the video with the cross threaded crank bolt and the broken pigtail you could add some comments embedded into the video that explains this to your viewers and subscribers. I am around this stuff all day but I still like to see how other technicians work, everyone always seems to work different (about like replacing u-joints, everybody has their own way or style of getting things done). Car MechaNick do you drop the 2.4L out the bottom on a terrain to replace the rear main seal or pull the engine out the top. Or can you pull the trans and replace the seal with the engine still in the car?

I do have a question hopefully you can answer. if I get another engine to put in one of these SUVs what is the recommended parts, aftermarket or OEM? also is there an upgraded aftermarket or OEM valve cover gasket that causes it to use less oil like they have with the 3.6 L? thank you in advance for your time.

I have one piston with bad rings. I had the timing chain guides break and the valves bent. Can I replace valves and rings and timing chain or is it a lost cause.

This was an awesome video and I was following along to a T when I realized fairly far into it that my motor had seized and so I couldn’t get the flywheel to budge. Looks like I’ll be dropping the sub frame thing. Idk if I can get the car high enough to clear it.

I had the harmonic balancer pulley fail and damage the keyway in the crankshaft. I'm guessing it's not possible to replace the crank without pulling the engine?

I'm having trouble with a 2012 Equinox. Hoping maybe you can guide me. I swapped the engine, but it keeps giving me the code P0172. Map sensor is good, fresh tune up, i have not changed the throttle body, I have not changed the computer either. Not sure if any of those 2 have to be relearned or changed.

I subscribed and checked your about info seen your in Ohio same as me. Where you at in Ohio I got a 2014 2.4 AWD equinox pcv froze and I’d bet my last dollar it took out the rear main seal! I don’t have a lift or quite all the tooling not that I wouldn’t get what I needed but it seems to be a pretty serious job for a backyard mechanic! I’m debating on paying to have it done or doing it myself seen videos of dropping the cradle and fixing it which is gonna suck without a lift! Also just watched you take the motor out the top so I know that’s a possibility! Curious what it would cost to have this done at a shop and hopefully your close to me lol! Great video

I have to remove the engine in a 13 equinox, it's awd is only difference. Rear main blew out, so I have to replace that and clean the intake. Will I have to pull the transfer case or can that stay? My lift isn't gonna be set up in time, so engine out the top is what I think my best bet is

Question- I need a head gasket- the dealer said because some of the coolant was in the oil - if they replaced the gasket its possible that the bearings could go out - so they suggested to just change the motor 🤔 - he said you fix that and 2 week or 2 months now your back because the bottom end went out - what would you suggest- I have 160.000 on now the motor I'm looking at only has 35.000 on it - I figured if im gonna spend 2200 for a head gasket- it maybe smarter to spend 2600 on a new motor plus install for 2 or 3 gran at least ill get another 5 yrs plus out of it and basically a new car - what do you guys think - help lol

Really nice video work and straight to the point which is nice. However, you are working way too hard on this engine. Not sure why you pulled the axles, control arm/ball joint, ECM, full exhaust, battery,.? You can pull just the engine out the top and leave all that intact. Just unbolt the cat off the manifold for the exhaust part of it. I thought you were dropping everything out the bottom until the very end.
