I have a 06 cammed with longtubes, x pipe and 2 spin tech mufflers and it sounds amazing, Pretty loud cold start but driving it sounds so amy

Honestly sounds perfect, I would’ve thought it would’ve had a lot more chop and be a bit louder, very quiet for a cam and straight pipe not obnoxious at all

2-1 Y pipe for +HP , to 3" for flow to FM super 10 or super 40/44 3" in 3" out if you dont want the droan🤙

Agreed 👍 I have the speed engineering longtubes on my 00 gmc sierra and the clap is gone completely.Just alittle raspy

Mufflers get rid of the clap noise. If you want it loud without clapping, cut the cats off and run a single Flowmaster or aggressive style muffler. Problem solved. No clapping.

Also if you do a x pipe with longtubes you won't have any clap and if you are worried about passing inspections you can do high flow cats.

Straight pipes will always clap. I have long tubes, and 2 1/4 duals all the way into 2 cherry bomb extremes on my cammed 76 squarebody It claps insanely loud at 2400 rpm

Add and X crossover, and a couple of Dynomax race bullets. It will still be loud, but have a much cleaner sound.

I have an 05 with dual cat into a 3’ inlet Flowmaster super 50 with dual 2 1/2’ outlet going out to 3’ exhaust tips for a deep aggressive growl no drone no clap full stock

Where did you get your truck turned after the cam and what all did you replace when you did the cam job I’m looking at doing one and would much appreciate the help.

I had it tuned by mail order tuner. Go on the website and you can type in literally everything you did then you ship your computer to them and they ship it back only takes a couple days. And I replaced the cam, oil pump, timing chain, lifters, pushrods and every single gasket and sensor on the motor. Oil pan and rear main included because everything was leaking

Can you keep the factory y pipe after the cats? I have cat back from MBRP. it connects to the flange after the y- pipe.

They’re just 4 pods from Amazon I don’t remember the brand, and then I think I got the bracket on Etsy honestly? It’s metal and really nice. Also buy a cheap 9006 wiring extension and you can cut one end off and wire it to the pods then just plug it into your factory fog light wiring

You should run a H pipe and two Magnaflows, H pipes help with low end torque

Sounds to rattlely like you've got glasspacks, get rid of the old cats, with either new hiflow units or none at all and put some classic Flowmaster 40s or Magnaflows in and it will sound like a legit muscle car with a lopey cam.

I don’t remember the paint code but it’s called Ming blue metallic, almost purple in the sun, its beautiful

Look into equal length exhaust with X pipe and add some mufflers. Otherwise, truck exhaust is going to sound like truck exhaust.

Yes I sent my ecu to mailordertuner.com with the cam specs and they mailed it back all ready to go

My 2001 6.0 runs best with an X flow muffler. Ran straight pipes and major loss of torque, and gas milage.

Plus it always sounds terrible unless it's a fuel racing setup that doesn't need exhaust scavenging

@@fish_R_stinky69 No it sounds bad because it is bad, are you not familiar with exhaust pulsing and the scavenging positive effects from exhaust thermodynamics? Even a rookie would know true duals almost always sound terrible without balancing or the effects of canceling each other engine banks resonance....etc.etc.

Do a x pipe. It's still gonna be clap trap unless you do like slp quad tips for a ws6 or get the square tip borlas with circle pipe inside. They will be in alot of trans am videos tips and size and shape of the tips make a huge difference

I ask doing something as well 08 lt chevy silverado 5.3 lifter 1 finally collapsed so doing up grade so looking for cam now what I can get without tune and what will need to be turned want the chop sound, help if you point me In right direction, Thanks

No matter what you do it’ll have to be tuned sadly. But I had mine tuned from a website called mail order tuner. I mailed it to him and said what I did and he sent it back tuned. Only about $300.

Nope factory converter. I went with this cam because they advertise that it’s factory converter friendly and just last year I had the trans built to a 4L65 and didn’t want to replace my brand new converter
