Looks really delicious, so thanks for sharing. I have chili in my jar meals, but I'm always up for trying new recipes. You could use a quart jar and add macaroni to make chili mac, maybe put a little freeze dried cheddar cheese on top. These recipes are so versatile. I'm stocked up on them, but I love them!

You could also use a can of keystone ground beef for the meat. Just keep the can of meat with your dry ingredients jar.

If you are lazy or don't have time to do what she suggest you can buy the "16-bean soup" brand package at most grocery stores. It's been available for decades and it tastes great. .

Can u really use this soup mix and do what she is doing and add dry onions gralic and seasoning 😊

@@sandrahudziec723 Yes. It comes with a packet of spices you add .....or you can forego that and add your own. I use the packet, but like adding onions and some Italian sausage once I ready to cook. Nothing wrong with what she's doing....it's probably cheaper. I have not ever thought about comparing prices. I started using it in college in the 80's as a hungry, broke, young man. I bought it at Piggly Wiggly first time. The package is identical today as it was back then. It must be very popular to endured so long. I'm not sure when it was first available but it's been around for at least 35 years. .

Chili in a Jar (recipe is one meal in a jar) 1/4 c dehydrated/freeze dry ground beef 3/4 cup instant beans (any dehydrated/freeze dried, any kind) 1/2 cup dried tomato dices 1 TBL dried diced onions 1 TBL tomato powder 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cumin 1/2 TBL chili powder 1 tsp oregano dash or two of smoke paprika Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper; smidgen of red pepper flakes Close jar, vacuum seal or oxygen absorber for long life To Cook Up: 2 1/2 cups water, medium heat to boil, then simmer for fifteen minutes or so. Add water if needed. 🥰

Using pint jars You can double the quantity ¼ c ground beef ¾ c instant beans (any kind you want) ½ c tomato dices 1 T diced/minced onions 1 T tomato powder ½ tsp garlic powder Dash smoked paprika or regular paprika ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp cumin ½ T chili powder 1 tsp oregano ===== If you want it a little spicy add: Dash of red pepper flakes Dash of cayenne pepper ===== DIRECTIONS: 2 ½ c water Add mixture Bring to a boil Simmer for 10-15 minutes

Textured Vegetable Protein. Many vegetarians use it in spaghetti or another meal you would use ground beef for. You can find it at health food stores or online.
