I just plant swapped today! Well, I gave cuttings to someone free of charge haha. I work at a nursery and someone came in looking for a Golden Pothos. We had one but it was quite large and she was looking for a start. So I joked "You can have one of my starts I have propogations coming out of my ears!" Well she said "Actually I'm driving by this way tomorrow and can swing by, would you mind if I did?" So I offered to bring two starts in and I was so happy to share! I brought in some prepped, rooted starts for her and sure enough she came by and I was so happy to pass them off to her and she was excited to grow it as hers had died after being neglected by a house sitter.

Maybe you could put all the “plant swap plants“ in one box? Then you have them all together in one spot already 🌱

Hello from New York! Got so many great ideas from you. I purchased a plastic dishwashing tub and metal grate to water my plants where they are (instead of running to the kitchen with them when I water too much or using 100 paper towels to soak up runoff in saucers) and today I’m going to make a soil box so I don’t have to mix every time I need new soil! Thank you so much!

Oh Claire, thank you so much for that opening sentence. I'm having a bit of a struggle to get starting too today and that was the best way to get myself to open my laptop and start writing my essay for my studies!! Your long content videos really help me to sit down and start working, keep focusing on my tasks and it's like a pomodoro unit for me :D I usually listen to your videos first and as a treat I watch them in the evening again to relax : ) thank you very much, you really help me getting through my masters degree!

A potential idea for tower pot cover pots is tall ceramic tea, coffee and sugar pots. Anything i prop in a pint glass fits in them perfectly and you can’t see the plastic at all. Got a bunch in b&m for £2 that didn’t have tea, coffee, sugar written on them.

I also like to pot my plants sitting on the floor! I am so glad that I am not the only one who has a closet of chaos! love your content! By the way, Stevesleaves has a large variety of begonias, they are located here in the states, but you could get a good idea on which ones you might like. I really like the darker leaf begonia and the silver ones.

33:21 hey Claire! I’ve purchased a set of 3 Tupperware style square pots from the range for like £2.99 that is acting like a really good deep saucer for my tower pots - I haven’t yet found a cute cover pot for them but don’t mind these containers as saucers 😊

Maybe you could take the leaf off the esqueleto and put the node in a prop box, to trigger new growth, maybe the node is struggling to keep the leaf alive That’s just what I do when I’m not liking a plant, and if the regrowth doesn’t bring me joy, I re-home

Hi Claire, thank you for another lovely video! 🌱 I needed some motivation to do things as well today, I appreciate it😊 If you were interested you could try propagating hoya with orchid bark. I only tried it because I had nothing else at hand, and I put it in a small lunch box - it worked really well and you don’t have to remove everything to pot it up (if potting in soil of course). I might try semi hydro, it would make an interesting experiment 😅🪴

I throw all my nasty pon water (and old yellow leaves) off of my balcony too! 🤣 I feel a little weird about it cause what must my neighbors be thinking? I always check to make sure no one is down there but I’d also be very startled if I was sitting on the 1st floor and water just came pouring down out of nowhere. 😅 Thanks for another relaxing video. ❤

My Hoya wayettii did nothing for almost a year, then I got it set up in the exact same set up as your black margin (no drainage glass container, leca reservoir, and tree fern fiber perlite bark mix) and it’s finally started growing. The roots took off and there are new leaves finally 🎉 I really like this method for certain plants now.

I’m trying a prop bin for the first time, put heat mats under it, had the closed lid, then was surprised when the prop cups dried out, lol the water evaporated just to the walls, top and bottom of the bin , not much water left in my cups, silly me

Have you considered using an algicide? Copper compounds are pretty effective and widely available. Copper sulfate is used by kids to make crystals. It’s cheap and widely available.

Ross, I'd love for you to sell your creations, I love handmade quirky figures and I bet ther s an audience for your drawings as well. Original artwork made by people. I respect your not quite being ready for that and agree with Claire when she says that just because you have a hobby that you're good at, that you enjoy, doesn't mean you have to monetize it. It's very easy to burn out on our hobbies when they become a source of our income.

there are actually a lot of cultivars for alocasia heterophylla. Dragons breath is one of the most common cultivar these days but they come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. That being said, your alocasia more closely resembles a sp. 'bisma' to me--heterophylla typically have unmarked petioles. Again, there are multiple forms of 'bisma' with 'platinum' being the one i see the most (silvery colored foliage) but yours appears to be a different, more green clone.
