Just sold a 06 Rubicon TJ to a guy who has a 06 Rubicon LJ and yes! He came with a tow bar and towed the TJ Rubicon with the LJ Rubicon home from Long Island to NJ , Probably the best Jeep picture of all time! And I chose 4 Leaf Springs for my Daily Driver/Off-Roader Tacoma S.A.Swap, doesn't drive like a Cadillac but it drives like a truck, cause it is a truck! LOL And offroad, she's an Animal!

Thanks for video! Could you help to choose please? What is better: adjustable control arms or control arms brackets or 3-link long arm kit (diy kit)? These kits have approximately similar prices. Using vehicle everyday and offroad on weekends. Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Rubicon 2015. Lift 3.5 inches. The main goal to put 37 inches tires and make Jeep suspension is very reliable. Few times per year we go to the mountains for a couple days. There is no any service or welding or even electricity. So suspension must be very reliable to not to way some parts in the mountain:)

@@scottkinderdine3317 I know this is old post. But rock krawler 3.5 x factor or adventure series, actually get 4in or more ,without all the heavy skids and bumpers etc. 3.5 with all the added weight will need exhaust spacer , I bought new front driveshaft instead , it's more $ but the front driveshaft cv joint will start clicking and go bad quick. I've got close 2 yrs on rock krawler and couldn't b happier with the flex. There's lots people on the jeep fourms that hate rock krawler tho. Idk y tho. Good luck

You said a 3” lift, what brand do you recommend? I was looking at the Metalcloak Game Changer, but those are 3.5”. Will that work as well, or do I need to stay under exactly 3”?
@Faq-ubeach
@Faq-ubeach 2 жыл бұрын
I know this is an old thread but maybe this will still help you or someone else out. Having dealt with alot of TJ lifts and metalcloak products... To answer your question, for a daily driver, I'd go with a 2inch lift and maybe a small body lift. That's about what I did. I feel like you do lose a small amount of on-road comfort and driveability with anything more than that suspension wise. But there's not a right or wrong answer to your question. Let me open this can of worms. First, call up dirk at dpg offroad. The guy is the TJ lifting guru and can get you squared away. If you go with a small lift with a body lift, it'll get you the size tires most people want (33s) while giving you the look people want while keeping it JUST small enough to not change to much of the geometry and cost a fortune. That said, a person can probably still get away with daily driving something in the 3-4 inch lift range. Like I said I don't feel like a person loses THAT much in on-road driveability...but then again it all depends on what someone is willing to tolerate. That's why there's not an exact answer to this question for you. I feel like I'd be okay daily driving a TJ with a 3.5 inch lift as long as it was quality. Something from currie or metalcloak. Something quality thats matched and set up right will perform well on and offroad. Something in the $1,500+ range. Something cheap will get you the height but ride like shit. I've seen it. Also, be aware that the higher you go the more things you will have to change...things that can effect how much of a change you can tolerate on a daily driver. For instance, going above 2-ish inches usually requires a new driveshaft or a transfer case drop to keep the driveshafts from being at too extreme of an angle. Well, dropping your transfer case is the cheap easy solution...but will cause a manual shifter to hit the jeeps body more and make it more difficult to shift and keep in gear. I hated that for a daily driver. New driveshafts are the proper way to do it...but that's more coin. What will probably kill it for you as a daily driver isn't the quality 3-4 inch lift. It'd be the tires. Now the best a TJ ever came with gearing wise is 4.11. I have that in my rubi...and my ass still runs 31 inch factory tires. Tried 33s and as a daily driver...it just lost to much speed for me. So if you don't have a regeared axle (big $$$$) or a Rubicon, you've prolly got 3.73 gears or lower. Which will make the 33 inch tired jeep even more of a dog. Hopefully I'm not killing your, or anyone else's, dreams of some giant TJ Wrangler that looks all cool....it's just that the whole thing is more of a process than people realize. Even for new jeeps. It's why so many new people in new jks and jls complain about their jeeps riding like crap and getting death wobble and such. It's not as easy as just getting big tires and new springs and you're done and it drives the same. Every suspension alteration after a certain height causes something else to need to be altered...and that alteration causes something else to need to be changed. Usually that cut off is anything above 2 inches. Speaking on metalcloak, I personally like Matson and metal cloak. I'm running his double adjustable control arms (once again, I went slightly above 2 inches and needed quality adjustable control arms to be able to readjust my alignment and camber angles back to factory settings). Some people in the jeep world swear by them...and some don't. I found their products to be quality and their customer service great. A person can never seem to go wrong with currie products though. I'd say metalcloak/savvy/currie are the best 3 for quality parts.
