This is an old discussion, but recently ChosunNinja tried to claim his sword was real. After being obviously refuted by many youtube users. So I decided to also post a video on the Ninjato that exposed this fake wannabe Ninja a long time ago.
If this video gets refuted I will gladly take it down. :)

let me ask a question. did the japanese ninja art evolve from the chinese lin-kuei or was that a myth? also do you think the korean sulsa( of which chosunninja could have promoted) were actually real? i saw articles in the mid-eighties adverted in black belt magazines feature on ninjutsu and the chinese and korean stealth arts of the lin-kuei and sulsa.

At one point he was so down in his crack addiction he even was homeless out on the streets looking like a bum, he accidentally bumped into Master Kwon's son begging for money and even he could not recognize him. He found his youtube sight later and was BLOWN away of his deception. My main concern is for all the Christian people following him and joining his dojo as he is no Christian, but truely an evil person, playing the part.

This is a ridiculous argument. Also, Gregg is obviously an extremely accomplished martial artist. I don't understand the reason for all the animus.
@neaituppi7306

Because you already knew what a hamon was. For those of us listening to see why Chosun's sword was fake, but may not already know much about swords, the video would have been better if you didn't assume people knew sword terminology and its significance. There are natural hamons and etched ones. There are cheaply made swords and expensive, very well made ones. But a cheap one could still injure a person, so I wouldn't say fake. I still don't get what sanity has to do with sword knowledge.

Oh boy this good ol debate again lol. It's funny because Greg's Ninja-to has a fairly obvious fake hamon on the blade, along with an even more obvious 440 stainless steel blade lustre. Nothing about the sword screams or even suggests Japanese craftsmanship! The liar is never going to admit his sword is fake, so the best course of action is simply to educate people, so good job on the vid! :) - Rev

@BlackShinobiShozoku besides keeping your leg attatched the lead leg is impotant for cutting (more of your inexperience) and drawing energy from the ground to the hips and so on (didn't get that in your 4 lessons did ya?) when your hips go one way and your shoulders go another (also not square to the target) you lose (and lost) your balance and are not geetting a good cut the only reason you got thru the twig is you gave it a mighty peeky swing like a baseball bat with a good sword

Well, Greg doesn't made any money from his activity (like other "authentic ninjas" do). U know, ppl dont like sentences kinda "train hard for 10 years", they are more attracted with Secret Ninja Schools etc. So, if he is attracted ppl to MA this way - why not?

About Greg-he is not asked for even a dime. I am TKD ITF practitioner, but I always wanted to learn that "hurricane" staff trick. It has no practical application, but it looks soooo cool :) I bought all the staff fencing books here in Ukraine with no result. And than I learned from Greg and I am remembering him each time when I'm practicing that move. Finally, I'm ready to wear black cape and play ninjas without asking Secret Kogaryu Papers. You are too prejudiced, Jesus told us to forgive :)

The problem with this, is that was just a poorly made video. It starts out with a promo picture of you, while you have already begun talking, Then follows with showing 2 swords in a backyad, with solar flare, and it cannot be discerned from how they are shown, what the difference is.

1) Well, we have Gorbyleff books printed in Russia ISBN 985-13-0621-5, ISBN 985-433-326-4. Very well grounded.Only japan medieval sources used, no Bujinkan\BlackBeltMag crap.Any of modern "Ninjutsu" schools cannot make any proof about its lineage. For one reason: once Tokugava ruled in 1600, peace was established and there are no more need in ninjas, as there are no more need in minutemen since Independence war ended in USA and no more need in red partisans here since WW2 ended :D

@BlackShinobiShozoku 1) I am not familiar with the history and I honestly don't care much about. 2) The things I saw looked pretty useful. How do you misuse techniques from other arts? What about MMA? 3) I know a some of great teachers who have bad realationship to their senseis. It is between them and not really somebody elses buisness. 4)It is only a belt. The grading itself doesn't make you a better martial artist. In fact the black belt or other stuff can motivate students. It's just a belt

2)Ninja cannot be compared to SEALS etc.For simple reason:regular military forces dont violate laws of their countries.Any of ninjas deed, if being recognized, entrailed their death.So again,if smbd claimed he is a ninja-he is definitely not. About ads mentioned in "ancient Ninja scrolls" - sounds interesting.I srsly doubt that in any country at any century killers and spies 4 hire was tolerated. I'd like to read one of those scrolls. Where did u find them? Bujinkan? :D

Sane person? I was not putting you down as a person. I'm saying it doesn't make the point. Substitute solar flare for ambient light glare. I doubt many people could tell the different quality of the swords by how you show them with the sun glare, and quick side view. I have a cheap samurai sword that looks just like your real sword. If it was shown how you did.

Well, technically speaking, anyone claimed he is a ninja is NOT a ninja. The same as someone claimed he is a spy is not a spy definitely :) Did you know how the ninjamania was started? In the beginning of the 20 century, it was caused by single man from almost ruined japanese publishing house. He was invented black capes and all the stuff. He saved his business and created the legend. So what WE know, is already a myth.Real medieval ninjas was not interested in advertising LOL

If you want to avoid embarrassing yourself even more than you already have, I'd advise you to stay out of discussions involving more knowledgeable and more legitimate martial artists than yourself. Hey ppl c'mon. Real ninja disappeared after the medieval war ended, bcuz spies no more needed by their country. After that,tradition was lost. But Greg can jump over the car, throw the surikens and do all the things like that, so he is more about ninjas then most of us. Stop killing the legend :))) p.s.I believe that hamon can't be aquired on the straight sword at all, because katana blade is tempered partially and it will bend anyway. I dont care, rly. It's obvious that Gregg is an accomplished martial artist. Your logic is extremely poor. As for him being a liar, I don't really follow you. He is claiming korean lineage which there is a historical evidence for but not connected to any japanese traditions. I am a practioner of korean martial arts and if you know any history of korea then you know the japanese tried to eradicate korean martial arts and culture. So copying Togakure Ryu / Bujinkan / or japanese anything is a great insult to korea and the korean people. Be proud of your heritage and stop infusing japanese ninjutsu model into your martial arts for monetary gain. Chosun ninja i have watched your videos and some of them make me shake my head, it's like your making up moves to seem like a ninja.... But you aren't. Actually I did watch the video, as I already talked about it. I did google, I did say I didn't know the significance of hamon. Yeah, the hamon is probably etched. All you have proven is you are yet another person involved in MA, stuck on thinking you know what is correct. Which like alot of people on MA forums, makes you unfriendly, intolerant, and unable to talk about something openly. I feel you are correct. But that can be a limitation, ironically, in the long run for a martial artist..
