Why the two different spellings ? It means exactly the same thing. It's dumb.

The amount of pistol grips that i see BJJ practitioners get away with is actually astounding. It's so fkn dangerous for both parties involved

I guess I'm very late to the party, but these are some beautiful submissions. Taking the Newaza game to the BJJ practitioners is amazing. I'm not a huge fan of BJJ - very evident from the second opponent (immediately going to his back and guarding). Thank you for sharing.

The difference between the Two is none. The evolution is the same. Because before 2010 it all was a 1% sport like wrestling. After Gracie kids modified it then the whole world learned the old school in a new way. So go learn the new and discover the old!....

grabbing balls should be allowed in grappling sports to remind graplers not to get into such akward positions. guy in black gee there would had a much better chance if this was allowed.

Wouldn’t Japanese jujitsu just be judo????
@csar2976 Жыл бұрын
No. The dude that did Judo took a lot of what he considered brutal, and left what he thought would be effective. Apparently that had a few matches of Judo vsJJJ, and Judo won So Judo became it's own thing. The BJJ removed a lot of what was deemed unnecessary, and specialized on the ground game. In the early days of BJJ, Judo beat them easily. Even wrestling would defeat BJJ (Gacie family put a wrestler in a coma for beating them) In my opinion BJJ is over rated. Thanks to the early fixed UFC matches and rules it was deemed effective. Wasn't as effective in PRIDE FC.

Jujitsu and Jiujitsu bjj are completely different. Jujitsu japan traditional use submissions stand up and ground. This is a bjj tournament so he is just taking it to the ground. Jujitsu practice punch and kick defense. Some schools like small circle jujitsu or master Wally Jay style jujitsu even practice decent striking and blocking fundamentals in gi that can be applied in street self defense, very brutal. I love jujitsu traditional.

Nice video, but! As you said you went very easy on your partner/student. In my opinion only. This is a bad mistake. Obviously you cannot go full power, as people will get hurt, then not return. Plus no one learns good techniques with full speed and power, they just try to survive. But you must put in the full technique. You must aim for the face (or whatever target you are aiming for) every time. You must let them fall on grass. All because if in a real situation and they fall on concrete, and have no toughness of falling. Or when someone punches them, they won't move properly. Because they are used to drilling with guys who don't aim for the face, so the only half-heartedly move out the way. The same goes for any locks and throws. A street fight is a very fast and violent thing. If they are treated nice in training, then they will freeze when it happens for real. And any martial art that doesn't prepare you for street defence, is not worth going to.
