Saw him 35 years ago, in Bordeaux, France, one or two years after Blue Hotel album. The concert at "Le Grand Parc" the planned concert hall, was cancelled at the last moment, coz not enough audience or whatever... So he decided to play in a club (Le Chat Bleu, kind of Bordeaux' Marquee Club)... Chris and his band just for us, 2 hundred fans... and free beer. Great memory.

Chris is phenomenal. He was very popular for a bit. He even had a TV variety and music show On TV. Problem is his music does not fit into a category. It is not country, but not pop. Not blues but not blue grass either. It is just good music. He still tours and is still killing it with that voice.

Great reaction! This came out in '89 believe it or not, but it didn't really hit until a year or two later when David Lynch featured it in his film 'Wild at Heart," and then it soared to # 6 on the Billboard charts. Roy Orbison meets Elvis. And his own twist of course. A sad song about a woman you love that doesn’t love you back, and its almost wicked that he should feel like this and can do nothing. A feel of longing and dare I say, despair. An amazing song.

@@MaddyReactions @brittreacts Let me suggest another video you should react to. The Eagles with their song "Lying Eyes." Written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, sung by Glenn Frey. I know you've heard of "Hotel California", with Don Henley singing which is arguably their most famous song. However, this song "Lying Eyes" is more country rock and tells a very compelling story. The Eagles are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a good reason, and Glenn Frey is in the Songwriters Hall of Fame for good reason. He co-founded The Eagles with Don Henley. Had a solo career of his own, and also dabbled in acting like "Miami Vice" and the movie "Jerry Maguire" (with Tom Cruise). The director of Jerry Maguire wanted someone who could act opposite Tom Cruise and not being intimidated. You know like a rock and roll star who co-founded a band that sells out stadiums. The song also features tight harmonies and excellent guitar skills. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bLGJhKWX39DPfY0.htmlsi=FVkNzIdMYdtMg_r5

This track was covered in a very different style a few years ago by a now-20- year-old Russian named Diana Ankudinova. It's unlikely you've ever heard a voice quite like hers. Chris is an amazing singer and his band is one of the best. They're top notch musicians and have played together for decades. To see them in concert, they're also fun and very entertaining. I've had the joy of catching them several times and every time, they all make an effort to acknowledge the audience as the reason they're there in the first place. No autotune, no faking it in any way. The guitar sound has a heavy 60s Surf influence - i.e. a magical blend of Spanish and Middle Eastern sounds mixed with electric guitar and heavy reverb. Done slowly like this, it adds an almost eerie vibe that is hypnotic. Just close your eyes and feel it.

I only recently got into these reaction videos, but this one was painful to watch. I lost my wife in '21 and late in '22 met someone who turned out to be the woman from this song. And the worst thing is: she looks like you. Just stunning, only straight, long hair. i introduced her to this song and when she heard the lyrics, me trying to send a message, she just smirked. Then she got on Tindr and had her hook-up come to my house to pick her up. I got that message. So I sold everything, got on a bicycle, and rode 3,450 miles to Campeche, Mexico, where I think I'll stay. Loved your reaction to this unique song. As others have mentioned, if you get a chance, go see him. This is what you'll hear. It's like listening to the vinyl.

Back in the 1980's Chris would do live performances between music videos on MTV. If you want to see Chris at his wildest. React to his official music video "Baby did a bad bad thing"...

80's and 90's music is some of the best. He had another hit called Blue Hotel, a new cover of this song was sung by Daisy Gray, she did a good job of it. If you ever get to it, listen to "In the air tonight" by Phil Collins, live, also Metal singer sings Amazing Grace (Dan Vasc) another great cover by him is Bring me to life.

Maddy, you should really check out the original, official music "Wicked Game" video from back in the day. Those images truly capture what this song means to our generation. Still cool to see you discover the song, if not the music video. Thanks for this little reminder of one of one of our yesterdays. Big shoutout from this old, longhaired, Southern boy in the mountains of East Tennessee. Peace. Later.

This is never mentioned when writing about Chris Icaak. Ckris was actually an amateur boxer in his younger days with good success. You can also see on his face that he has been a boxer. Chris had his nose broken seven times. He is a formidable singer and he always has a team of fantastic musicians with him.

I think the girls fell in love with Chris Isaak and every guy was jealous. Great song and when it came out my daughter was close to 20. I still like it today even though I'm 70.

Chris was a Boxer, a Bouncer, a Singer & Song Writer. He even had TV show the Chris Isaak Show. You really should watch the video of this song made for MTV. It shows his boxer developed body. And do another reaction to it. GP, Out! ✌!
