Nice work! Little elbow grease saved you some money. That steel wool you used is called "4 ought" or "3 ought", depending on how many zero's there are.

1980 was the only year for that grille design on Chevy fullsize pickups & SUVs. 1980 was also the last year for round shaped headlights & the first year for square shaped headlights. The square shaped headlights were optional except on models with the Silverado & Sierra Classic trim levels because they came standard on them.

the rule was chrome grill got square headlights.. I would have square headlights but they were way more complicated to remove than I thought.. a guy wanted to “trade me” he hated the square headlights.. within 1 minute of the swap we stripped every screw on his truck..my 80 c30 was a painted bumper painted grill custom deluxe… factory round head lights

@chriscraft77022 I forgot to say grilles with that design were also on 1980 - 1982 Chevy fullsize vans too.

I use that same Mag and Alum polish on chrome. It works well.

Where did you get the diecast emblem? I can only find foil emblems searching online.
