In WKY they want to combine the wheat as fast as possible because they plant a second crop of soybeans right behind the combines. I eat allot of dust through out the year. Rarely do the sun and wind match up.

Thank you for watching. Are the small grains in your area planted in the fall or spring? Wheat is planted here in Kentucky in October and harvested in June so that a second crop of soybeans can be planted behind on the same ground.

When Milton CAT was selling Challenger there was an MT835 in Kendall, NY and an MT865 in Wyoming, NY. There is still an MT975B in the Holley area.

I have not come across a 60ft Honey Bee yet. It would be impressive to see. The largest header I have filmed is a 50ft Hinge Draper on an X9 combine in soybeans.

The MT800s a tough tractors. This farm has four.

MacDon is the industry leader in Draper Head sales. Almost every brand of combine in this region run MacDon. They do a good job in cutting and gathering the crop.

The Lexion combines track set up and APS threshing are both great features on the combine. The new 8000 Lexions really move some grain.

CAT contracted with CLAAS in 1998 to provide the company with combines. In 2001 when CAT sold Challenger to AGCO, CLAAS combines we’re only sold at CAT dealers so they opted to continue to paint them yellow in North America. In 2019 the yellow paint was retired and new Lexions are sold in CLAAS green and white.

CLAAS Lexion combines were sold in yellow paint in the United States from 1998-2019. In 1998 Caterpillar contracted with CLAAS to sell Lexion combines through its dealer network to offer a more complete farm machine line to go with Challenger tractors. CLAAS sold Challenger tractors in green and white in Europe starting on 1999. In 2001 Caterpillar decided to exit the farm equipment market and sold its tracked Challenger tractor line to AGCO. AGCO created the Challenger brand selling tracked tractors and taking Massey Ferguson wheeled tractors, Massey combines and Hesston hay tools and painting them yellow and selling them as Challengers through Caterpillar dealers. CLAAS dropped the Caterpillar name from the Lexion in 2002 and continued to sell yellow CLAAS combines through Caterpillar dealers. In 2019 CLAAS end the yellow paint program with the release of the 7000/8000 Lexion combines in the United States. The APS system is good on the CLAAS I simply mentioned the rotor length because I mentioned it on the IDEAL. I have a few videos here on the channel where I go more in-depth on APS.

A second crop of soybeans is planted after the combines cut the wheat. They like talk stubble for the beans.

@@bigtractorpower makes sense..thought it might be hard on the tires, but that explains it!

@@jarrettfullerton2580 I’m not sure about wheat stubble, but corn stubble will actually bite little nicks in the tires if you don’t have a chopping corn head or stalk rollers or something like that

The part of the field I rode in the combine cab is a low spot that hold water in the winter which reduced the wheats yield in that section. Typically we see 95 to 190 bu wheat on average.

Starting in model year 2019 CLAAS North America Lexion combines are produced in green and white.
