Its a different style of motor/gear box set up, makes that really deep noise, With the electrostar traction control. Its a nice hybrid mix of e-star variation. These are likely still capable of 100mph given how long it takes for the motor to raise in pitch at certain speeds. When compared to other trains that have a similar motor/gear box sound set up. I.e some german trains bombadier made have a similar sound. They likely have a lower gear ratio than 375s. But can still hit 90/100mph. As a result they can probably use slightly less power to get to 100mph too. But thats mostly an 'educated'guess of mine.

@@gapthemind--mindthegap8524 The 375 is 0.62. On Wikipedia, it says the 376 is 0.66. Go check - I just checked and it still says it. So does Eversholt. So I think 0.66 is more likely.

​@@Solomon_Ccoolio!.maybe it hits max acceleration a bit later in the acceleration sequence because it hits 30mph in like 22 -23seconds. Tell me your hypothesis on these units acceleration then ? I think it really picks up towards mid speed and lasts a long ass time

Might be due to the lower voltage of 3rd rail DC. Only reason I say that because the Class 378's (which are basically the 376's, with differences of course and is dual voltage) under AC pulls off like a bullet when the driver wants to. Yet under DC mode, it seems to be reduced.

​@@TheUnknown313 actually the 378s are alot faster than these even on the DC lines. I have an old video on my channel if you wanna check it out of the 378s between norwood jnc and forest hill . The 376s are limited probably due to southeastern specificications being different. Also I think 378s are updated versions better software and hardware etc. Electrostar 2 !!!! I've got a second video of the 376s coming in an hour or so stay tuned!
