This was worth watching just to see you using boards with elastic bands on the mold, rather than just elastic bands, which can deform the mold. I haven't started casting yet, just soaking up loads of info before i do.

This is nearly identical to the part i want to make for my rifle. I need a connecting adapter from the rear of my rifle to the stock. Had the desire to make a custom part either by grabbing random PVC products at homedepot or casting my very own. Im just worried that material of the cast would eventually crack eventually from the recoil. Now im more interested in what you do than making my cheapy 9mm look like an MP5 lol.. If anyone has any tips i would appreciate it especially if they've used resin casts as a durable part rather than a prop

Is there a special syringe for this? What’s the best way to clean it? Because i thought about washing the syringe before the resin cures but I fear that that thing will cure in the sink. Is there a product that dissolves whatever resin is left in the syringe? Thank you

Hi, I cast resin fishing lures which have 10% microbubbles filler added. I use a long potlife resin and pressure cast at 80psi. I can never get a completely bubble free cast, there are always bubbles on the top of the piece that require drilling/filling. Is 80psi not enough pressure because of the extra viscosity caused by the microbubbles?

Hello Eric, I've been looking for a solid vacuum pump. What are you using there? It seems to be able to pull air out to create a vacuum and push air in for pressure casting.
@EricStrebel

I am using a Pro-Set pump from CPS for my vacuum set up, the pressure pot uses air from my home made air compressor. You can watch the video here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fJaint2Hx6vcnX0.html thanks for checking out the video, and your comment, good luck casting George Syrimis

Hello. What type of silicone do you use for the mold? I have used a few different types and find that when pressure potting it seems to "squeeze" the mold making the molded part just slightly smaller than the master that was created to make the mold. Do you take that into consideration when making the mold, or does that kind of silicone not shrink?
@EricStrebel
@EricStrebel 5 жыл бұрын
Check the shrink factor on the date sheet from the manufacturer. I use a quality silicone and don't factor that into the equation, but you should consider it for larger parts.

Nice video but I don't think you can call it high pressure injection as you do at 3:52 No way you can reach high pressure with a syringe and if you could it would take more than rubber banda to hold the mold together. Still an interesting technic demonstatrtion

Whats the different between a vacuum chamber and pressure pot? If I already own a vacuum chamber should I get a pressure pot also?
@EricStrebel
@EricStrebel 6 жыл бұрын
BrandonTezenoTV A pressure pot is the opposite of a vacuum chamber. It is used to crush bubbles in the resin to a smaller size. You will get the best results if you vacuum degas your resin first then cure the part in the pressure tank to crush any bubbles that are left, if you have any bubbles left to crush, you shouldn't,...but if you want perfectly clear parts then a pressure tank is a must. You will get stronger parts as well with a pressure tank, in my opinion, but you will need a degas the pats first for the highest performance parts.

its a brilliant video. We are casting transparent polyurethane in an aluminium profile which is open on the casting end. We degass the polyurethane and make it entirely bubble free and pour it into the aluminium profile . The gel time for our polyurethane is about 30 minutes. So post degass and mixing we still have about 10 minutes left . After pouring it into the profile the bubbles start forming again and again and again. its quite depressing to see bubbles in the profile. kindly help us out with a solution. We let the Polyurethane cure at room temperature for 24 hours. We do not have an option of pressure casting. Kindly help us out with a solution. Thanks
