The movie you were thinking of is Rain Man with Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. It was loosely based on a real person. I don't remember his real name, but they called him Rain Man. He couldn't carry a basic conversation, but he call tell you what day of the week your birthday was and recite pages from a phone book that he read years ago. Insane perfect recall.

Excellent point re: fake urine. When I was an outpatient after getting addicted to medication I was initially prescribed for legit need (OxyContin, Xanax) I'd go see them once and week and give a urine sample in one of them tests while I was there. Once I was there and - them pots are pretty small - so I peed in it a little and put it on the window ledge (the window was open a little and it was Winter) and finished peeing, washed my hands etc and when I got back the nurse was like "the test says it's a bit cold" so I asked what that meant and he was like "well you tell me". And he REFUSED to believe me it wasn't fake. But the thing is, I'd legit ALWAYS been 100% honest. Like when talking with him, if I'd had a slip and taken anything that week, or the occasions I'd relapsed, I'd always tell him about it :/

I love the joke around 9 minutes. Where he talks about Autism, the movie rainman, and then taking that young neighbor to the casino. When he said " got in the taxi, and said to the casino " and not the zoo. There was not much laughing. It wasn't until he started highlighting the connection that he wanted the autist person to gamble for him the audience got it.. Gotta love Americans. I laughed at them laughing so late not really getting the joke until that point :0 And then a bit of history. I know must do not care about that. So put it bellow the other message. But Ricky got the aids thing wrong ( Its humor, not meant to be right ) We actually do know how the illness went from monkeys into humans. It was science. Back in the early days of modern medical science we used parts of animals to make medicine. ( from the early 1900's to the 1960's ) Because there was an ingredient that made it possible to bind other ingredients. Bears and monkeys where both used for this. So when American scientist did research in Africa about making new medicine against Polio and so on, they used this natural fluid to bind other ingredients together. And then they tested it on people. And It was this practice that made it possible for the virus to spread. Sadly with all the nutjobs that is around after the 2019 lockdown. Speaking of interesting science and history of early medicine is often not something you should do. But despite the bad that happened with this. It also lead to many good things. Like dealing with Polio, measles and so on ( in large parts of the world ) Something that was a massive issues at the time.

You can't just stop being an alcoholic, its an addiction & like all addictions you manage what triggers the addiction, you're still addicted to that substance, drinking heavy for a few months then being able to stop isn't an alcoholic, you can't just be an alcoholic for a short period of time, you're either a using addict or you're in control of the adduction.

14:28 yeah, but far too many foods these days contain high fructose corn syrup, which specifically bypasses the body's "I'm full" warning signal. That and legally addictive substances (including sugar obviously) are the big reasons for such an obesity crisis.

I run 3m a day and never loose weight! it has nothing to do with the Crisps Ice Cream and Chocolate I eat!

Obesity may not be the disease, but food addiction is very real.

As a nurse, Ricky IS right, though, about weight. Less than 2% of obese people have a disorder (glandular, metabolic, thyroid, PCOS) that contribute toward their weight. And that's CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS. There is no disease or illness that makes it impossible not be overweight. Like, if you see those documentary or (not commercials...appeals? charity) on TV on starving nations in Africa etc...there's not the occasional obese person amongst all the emaciated people who has "glandular problems" and is obese despite not eating much. That just doesn't happen. EDIT: ('cause I know people will try and call me out due to being a nurse) I have absolutely zero judgement when it comes to a patient's weight (or people in general) and do not think badly or differently about obese patients (obviously...I'm not a total asshole)..my parents are both classed as obese....I just think we need to be honest about these things.
