In Nixons method, 8 cm is taken perpendiculary from the mid of left costal margin or from the lowest lung resonant point from the posterior axillary line?

I think percussion should be done from perpendicular line from below upward If dullness extend more than 8cm to this perpendicular line in upward direction,then it is splenomegaly

@@rayan01 till 9 space there is lung resonance.So if spleen size increases it go up also making 9 space and above spaces dull
