V.B Debbie occasionally joked how Eddie went down the “Nile”, clever little Cleopatra reference. And she liked to make cracks about Eddie, but in serious interviews she was kind about Eddie and honest that he hurt her. In regards to Elizabeth it took them some time but they became friendly again.

I do not know if i could be so friendly with a woman my dad left our house for when my sister and i were so young babies left my mom. I hold grudges. I know those ppl do that for some reason. It is hard for me to what us forgive cant forget what ever they say should ve done. We live in the real world. I do know i was always taught not to go out with other peoples husband. Not to go out with Married men other peoples husbands................Carrie talked to Elizabeth i don T know if i could do it we are not rich and in the business show or monkey business. Sometimes you see the creation at play over time as she hones the timing and delivery! It happens even within these clips as she repeats about thanking Elizabeth for getting Eddie out of their house. There's even another you tube clip where someone tells her that Elizabeth is offended that she hasn't come to greet her at a party and in this telling, Carrie says that it was Elizabeth saying that Carrie should be grateful that she got Eddie out of their house!

She and her mom are incredible and so talented. I love them most when they are comedic like this but I did also love that she kept it real in that one clip where she really laid out there how distraught her mom was because although we all by common sense know a woman would be it was important to tell it like it was jokes aside. They were honest classy and amazing women and the fact that her mom literally passed a week after her was so heartbreaking but very telling of the love they had for one another. Great women.

The Reynolds-Fisher marriage was not as happy as fan magazines enthused when I was a girl. Eddie treated Debbie abominably, but I don't think the marriage would have lasted even without Elizabeth.

The actor that I was partly named after played Elizabeth Taylor's father in _"Father Of The Bride."_ I was compared to Princess Leia when I was in my teens and twenties. Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher were very bitter towards Elizabeth Taylor for many years, while I was growing up. They all came to realise that Eddie Fisher wasn't worth it. That's what brought the three ladies closer towards the end. Eddie was the homewrecker. However, Carrie once said Hollywood threw him and Debbie together as they thought they would make a sweet, wholesome couple. Carrie also said they should never have got together. Hollywood wanted their marriage to work, but in Eddie's eyes, it was probably a publicity stunt that went too far. Apparently he was already in love with Liz Taylor. She even converted to Judaism for him.

Eddie was a bad boy, but he had one of the most beautiful tenor voices of his time! So sad that he could not have prolonged his vocal talent for the world, but booze and drugs killed that chance. I love Carrie Fisher. She was incredibly bright, talented and just wonderful. Elizabeth was so beautiful and charismatic, you had to love her and forgive her.

Well, the biggest guilty was the husband. Why do people still tend to blame the third part when there's a husband who was the one commited to his wife and kids?.... Elizabeth was a family's friend but... he was the one who had a family... it's easier to blame the outsider since she doesn't stop loving her father but in fact he was the one to blame if it was supposed to blame anyone. I 'm a Star Wars fan, I love Carrie fisher, but she revealed she had a relationship with Harrison Ford during the filming of Star Wars original movies. I mean, we're talking about a trilogy that came up from 77 till 82 or 83...And didn't Harrison have a family by then?...So...I mean....Carrir Fisher also got involved with a married man...So...you see what I mean?...We are all humans.

they were equally to blame - he should have thought of his family and she should have thought of her friend and kept her legs shut for once in her life

@Marjo First of all, Eddy had the hots for Elizabeth when Mike was still alive. He admitted that. Eddy took advantage of her pain. When Mike died she was destroyed. She said later that, stupid as that sounds, she was trying to bring back Mike with his best friend. Eddy took total advantage of her state of mind. The whole thing was Eddy's fault.

@Marjo You don't know for sure what went on, no one really does. But people are always eager to pick one side and they get hung up on that and close their minds to anything else. Love, loneliness, close sympathy, can lead to sometimes where it shouldn't lead, but no one but the parties themselves really know what was in their hearts!

@Marjo You cannot accurately call names! Elizabeth did NOT have affairs, she had a strict up-bringing of probity, and believed love and marriage were synonymous; she married her men! There is ALWAYS two sides to a story and people only have conjectures, suppositions, opinions, and they can all of them can be wrong sometimes! Simply, it's not for us to say.

@Marjo I'm well aware of Taylor's background and adult life. I'ts been talked about and recorded enough, both accurately and inaccurately! However, it's all water under the bridge and continued discussion about it us futile is of no value in trying to persuade me or anyone else! It's history!!

Carrie reconciled with both parents; her mom died shortly after she did, saying she didn't want to live without her. Taylor and Reynolds patched up whatever problems remained between them, and even appeared together ("These Old Broads"). Eddie Fisher harbored lingering resentment towards Reynolds, however, calling her "phony".

@Toia Townes It is sad. He did manage to beat his drug problem, though. He married Connie Stevens (which produced Joely Fisher). Don't know if that union was a happy one.
