"Mr. Homeowner, what is the most important thing for you when [your service]?" - They give you the answer and then reply back "I am glad you answered that!..." stuff stuff or money issue "I offer a 30 money back guarantee with [my service].." need - create a story, a framing of what it feels like to own or have that service put scarcity by saying "there's a chance it could get approved and there's a chance it could not get approved" or "I'm a little bit busy here since I am booked for the next 3 weeks, but hey! you get a [appeal wise]." tie downs: "you get a brand new warranty", "get a brand [service]", "get a brand new.." etc etc. trust - ARO/compliments, etc.

Hello, fellow roofers. I am in Florida and we are expecting a hurricane this week. I was wondering if it could be perceived as "exploitive" to try to sell before a crisis. I received 5 door slams this weekend and lots of yelling accusations accusing me of this. How would you handle selling this week in light of the impending storm? I can't mention the storm because people have video and audio and I don't want insurance companies to accuse me of foul ethics. Thank you for any suggestions.

If i had any suggestion, it'd be to door knock the pending areas, and offer them support for the up and coming storm. Areas most likely to be affected. I would say something like "Hey, we know we're about to have an awful storm coming through, and we hope that your home isn't damaged, but in any instance if it is, we would love to help you build back any damage caused through any means necessary." Business card, coffee mug, tshirt, door hangar, etc whatever you want to offer. After the storm if you don't get any immediate calls just go knock again, most they can do is say no, otherwise they'll have alot more appreciation because you were thoughtful enough to visit them before hand.. vs the other people who are trying to treat it as a goldmine. If the owner of the channel disagrees I'm always open for ideas, but considering your situation that's what we would do.

Great advice here! Be empathetic and supportive. You are there to HELP. The truth is every contractor is going to get booked out for a year or more really, really fast. Offer priority service and leave your info.
