I think that yellow can wash a light skin person but maybe if you wear a bit more blush on and maybe a lip color that is a bit darker or brighter, nothing crazy but just more intentional can help the look, either way you are beautiful.

Absolutely, I notice this so much even upon filming. I can tell it works against me because it's much different when I put on blue or pink, purple or even green. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this.

I agree with different shades of the same color working or not working for someone. But that muted soft yellow I believe you have chosen very well. It brings the thoughts of sweet and soft and gentle when I see it on you. It doesn’t stand out against you. “Doesn’t steal the show.” You know how some colors you notice the dress first and it seems separate from the person. It doesn’t do that at all. It just looks classy and beautiful on you. I think you chose the color well and I think it suits you wonderfully. Looking forward to see you in more yellows!

I like to wear “wintery” colors the cold months, burgundy, deep berry, forest green, and deep blue. I still love wearing florals, just on deeper colored backgrounds. I have very dark brown hair and very light skin, so these colors complement me, too. 😉

I think that yellow suits you great! It’s muted and a bit peachy. And totally, I have a long sleeve top that is yellow and white tie dye, I especially pull it out on rainy days haha

I just got a sewing machine after not having one in years. I’m so excited to make a few simple alterations! I have a couple of dresses that need the shoulders brought up. I usually bring items in for alterations, but for simple, straightforward alterations, I have the skills and now a sewing machine!

Thank you again. You are just so fun to listen to and full of joy. How could one not be lifted up! I loved going through your closet and seeing what would stay and what would go and why. I have to tell you I miss seeing the girls and a rare appearance of Jorge. Would love to see the girls model some of the clothes you shared with them. Dear Nikki... Thank you for going through your wardrobe and what’s for sale. My favorite is the Spring blue n white dress. You inspired me to treat the dresses I have special. I find many of my dresses at a special thrift in my town but try to look for quality and name brands. These are pieces of treasures that bring beauty into my life ( as you said) and I will look at them differently. I do enjoy wearing a sweater n skirt on some days for a more casual wear and warmth in my area. Thank you Nikki💕 nancy

I think yellow looks nice on you. I recently started wearing bold prints. Not sure they suit me but they make me happy and I needed a change. I live in a tropical climate so colourful clothes fit in.

Don’t say that you can’t wear yellow, or that it’s not your color!! That buttercream yellow looks INCREDIBLE on you!! When the video opened, you took my breath away. 😍 Have you looked at the Dressing Your Truth free course by Carol Tuttle? She talks about the different colors and how every woman can wear a certain color (such as yellow) but that there are certain tints, tones, shades, and hues of those colors that are more honoring to your energy type. It’s incredible knowledge and so empowering, and validating to know why you’ve been drawn to certain tones/tints/shades/hues of various colors and patterns. That said, I loved your opening conversation about colors helping lift emotions. I actually thrifted a buttercream yellow, Pima cotton, 3/4 sleeve shirt, and a yellow pashmina-style scarf, because they reminded me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and I did this several months ago knowing internally that I would be needing the color yellow to combat seasonal depression, come January. I’ve been looking forwards so much to wearing these buttercream yellow colors. 💛

Thank you! I have been enjoying finding shades I feel look beautiful. Yes, I looked into Dressing Your Truth many years ago and it really changed my wardrobe for the better when it came to styles and color. There have been other systems that have helped me fine tune things even more. Color can really help with that as you said, it's good you knew to do that!

I love the yellow dress on you. I love a certain tone of yellow too, but it is hard to find. I would really need to find someone who does alterations in my area- we are very rural and I have not been able to find someone. It is difficult to get clothes to fit a 4'10" person. ;-). You’re wearing my favorite color and it looks gorgeous on you. My coloring is just like yours, only I’ve gone gray now, but it’s hard for me to find a yellow I can wear. Yellow is such a joyous color and is supposed to make you more productive, also.

Your seamstress did such a good job with that dress. So creative to add the lace detail in the back. I have a huge pile of clothes I need to alter too, just a big project but so worth it. I loved everything about your wardrobe, even the yellow. I think yellow is a color for you. ☺️ I also wish I had thought about sending you my wardrobe. Thanks to your inspiration I consolidated all my clothes into an armoire which belonged to my great grand mother. It even has a signature on the side of it of my great aunt at age 16 who passed when I was young. Until this year, with my capsule wardrobe, I never found a real use for the armoire. My entire clothing selection fits perfectly. I also decided to change all my colors to sepia tones. A lady at my church dresses her entire family in lovely creames and browns and earthy colors. She always looks so put together. Thank you for your continued pursuit of all things beautiful and being willing to share it with the rest of us! 🌸🌸🌸

I think you look beautiful in yellow!! I was told for years I couldn't wear yellow...low and behold, I found the right shade and I look amazing in yellow! I am a spring according to coloring guides and mustards are a no but daffodil yellows are a yes!!! There are so many things in my life that I believed as truths only to discover it was a false belief!! Happy New Year!!

I love and appreciate your videos but I like and respect you too much to not tell you what I honestly think. The dress and color of it are lovely but I don’t think it suits you like other colors do. You seemed a bit washed out and not as vibrant as in your other clothes. Perhaps a more autumn toned yellow? Anyhow my input may not be popular. Keep up the great content!

@@TheLadyoftheHouse well I wouldn’t say horrible just not as becoming. Horrible would have been had you worn a neon dress in all kinds of clashing colors and you get the point. It would be hard to make you look horrible. Thanks again for the wonderful work you do!
