After a long two years apart, three families are finally reuniting in Malaysia, via the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL). But as COVID numbers rise in Singapore, can their journey home be smooth sailing?
SingPost Assistant Branch Manager Jo Ann last saw her newborn daughter more than a year ago, as COVID travel restrictions kept her apart from her family. Meanwhile, her brother Eric, also a SingPost employee, is worried about their mother, who has been all alone since the passing of their father. The VTL is Jo Ann and Eric’s chance to finally reunite with their loved ones.
With her family in Malaysia unable to attend her wedding in Singapore, Cecelia is planning to make it up to them by holding a ceremony in Ipoh, Malaysia. But as the Omicron variant rages around the world, her plans might just be dashed.
Johari has not seen his children and grandchildren in almost two years. His family has prepared a feast to welcome him back to Johor Bahru, but an unfortunate administrative error could jeopardise his travel arrangements.

When Johari's daughter teared up because she thought her dad wont be able to enter Msia, I felt like crying too. The relief was real when he replied that he would be able to take a bus at a later timing.

That's awesome they're reunited. I couldn't imagine how frustrating it would be knowing they're just like an hour flight away from their family. My cousin is going through this entire thing as well :/

a reunion long overdue. bless their hearts and hard work. not easy emotionally and mentally dealing with a long lockdown. hope that CNA can cover about reunion between Malaysian and Thailand families (when land border reopens, hopefully in March) both have been separated since the lockdown in 2020. they have very close ties to people in Southern Thailand, usually crossing the land borders to visit each other.

I feel how it was to live a part from your family during lockdown cuz right I live in Cambodia while my parents is in Thailand and I’m still 16, I really want to meet them fast but they were too busy with their business , while I also busy with my study but we still in contact with each other twice a week.

I'm curious about the filming process...did you guys already send your videographers ahead to film their families in Malaysia? Or do you have a team already in Malaysia?

So now Singapore government is governing Malaysia? Our dear Singaporeans is living very well that we bother about other nation reunion? So CNA going to do for reunion for every country folks that work in Singapore from the entire southeast asian nations to china, india, korea, japan, taiwan, pakistan, usa, etc. wa.. like that 100+ countries for each documentary? If not why Malaysia only? We govern them? Our Singaporeans well taken care of jia baba we can reach out to others? Are you going to invade Johor and give them a better life than the current boleh bolah Malaysia government? So we only accept economic refugees from Malaysia not Vietnam 30 years ago? While we have our own Singaporean born economic to be refugee by your policy that slash local born badly?
