You have such a humble voice and presentation - as if you do not realize what an incredible and amazing talent and level of knowledge you have. And that you have this channel, where you can tomatoes in one video and build an elaborate machine for your woodworking in the next, is further evidence of your humility. The amount of knowledge you have is astounding. This series came across my feed on YT and I passed by it a couple of times. But I watched the first one and then just kept going. Now I can't wait to see the next one. There's very few channels on YT that have everything going for them, but yours is definitely on that list.

Thanks. I started with a dowel but you really couldn't see it turn. He just happened to have the right size head and needed a job. Hopefully I get it finished up this coming week. Just have to switch the tractor over to the snowblower first. Thanks for watching.

Please consider a video on how you wired the controller to the VFD and set it up in your controller?

I have not done one because there are many different versions of this Chinese vfds that look alike and they have different wiring. Best to just use the controller and vfd manuals to be sure you don't blow things up. Thanks for watching.

Amazing - did you learn this after you retired, off KZfaq, or were you a machinist before retiring. I am amazed how you design and put this together from parts you buy from different sources off the internet. Very interesting videos. Cannot wait to see it work.

Thanks. I was a mechanical design engineer in charge of concepting and designing machinery to bring new products to life before I dropped out of the workforce. Since then have kept my mind busy learning new things. I learned a lot from my mistakes. Thanks for watching.

Would replace the limit switch relays by simple opto couplers. You used nice optical detectors but still rely on mechanical action and thus delay. But overall, very(!!!) impressive build!

Thanks. I plan on doing that in the future. I bought a couple opto couplers on Amazon and couldn't get them working right so I went with the relays I had laying around until I get more time to play with them. I am guessing that I need to add a resistor. Thanks for watching.

@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 If they are just opto's you need a resistor indeed. On the input they are just a LED, so just like a regular LED they need a resistor. Output can just go in place of the relay (assume between input and 24V). But of course, mind the polarity on both sides. (anode/collector => positive, cathode/emitter => negative)

Amazon and ebay usually have several listed from different sellers. Vevor.com also has some lower cost Chinese spindles. I think most come from the same manufacturer. This is the one I used for this amzn.to/46PqStp . This is the cheap vfd I used on this that so far has been good amzn.to/3rdXNr4 . and this is the a little better vfd that I used on the slab flatner build amzn.to/3PJ7nfG Just match the kw and features you will need. Can I bug you with another question, I’m deciding on what 4x4 cnc router to buy, and most have cons and pros, I understand ball screws is the way to go, and shapeoko 5 and the onefinity elite is also tempting. But don’t know which one to go for, would you mind sharing an advise there? Thank you so much

I will not recommend any machines that I have not tried. Be careful of sponsored KZfaq videos because everyone is not totally honest with reviews lately. Best bet would be look for reviews on woodworking and cnc sites from actual users. Both ballscrew and belt machines can be accurate depending on your budgeet for a starter machine.

The last 3 years have been amazing. All my 401k's are up at least 5x with only 20% tax. Have to thank Trump for many of the new toys. May be time to cash in now though. Thanks for watching.

Your right about it. My 401k tripled since Trump has been in office. It never moved in the 8 years in a democratic administration. Makes me very concerned for the future!

The thing that worries me most is the 60% capitol gain tax they are talking about on investments that could start next year.
