There was a fight when I was in high school between two boys who were tough athletes that played football and wrestling. I didn’t get to see it, but heard a gym teacher who was in his 70s about to retire had to help restrain them. He was old and short but still had big guns for muscles. The funniest thing about the fight was that it was all over a seat in the cafeteria.

Still easily the best scene in the series, which is saying a lot. Every character and relationship throughout season 1 and 2 was so well established that it made this fight scene not only so epic and fun to watch but incredibly emotionally compelling cause you’re so invested in these characters. I will never not get stressed out watching this

What always gets me about this scene is I've seen plenty of school brawls in media and they don't matter. This DID matter. They treated this seriousl. The brawl changed EVERYTHING for these kids.

I still feel bad for Robby because he went to school that day trying to have a fresh new start, then chaos erupted, he didn’t go to school that day saying “I hate Miguel, I wanna kick him off the railings and paralyze him” As for Tory, definitely went too far in her actions here, but despite that I don’t believe she was trying to “kill” Sam with the brass knuckles like people including myself in the past claimed I think she wanted to leave a scar on Sam, but not kill her I don’t think Tory was irredeemable since she wanted to follow her probation before Kreese started manipulating her

Despite the show framing it as her falling down the stairs as losing She might have gone after sam again had Miguel not fallen. Also Tory went to Karate class that night Sam went to the hospital. Season 3 was a stalemate with some corny cliche dialogue before the guys told them to stop. Season 4 Tory won. Bribed Ref whatever. To Everyone at the tournament it went down as a bad call/missed call and Tory won clean. The elbow was a non issue. People cling to that because Johnny said something. But in all the tournaments no one except Barnes has been docked points. And it took multiple warnings for that to happen. Sure Tory May say in season 5 “you didn’t lose”. But that’s not the same as saying you won. It’s not gonna change the outcome of the all valley except maybe an asterisk. Roller rink sure Tory got swept down but Sam got kicked out. Country club Sam got pushed thru a table covered with deserts as Tory walked away. In Sam’s dream Tory drowned her. Arcade fight Tory showed up and she cowered and hid. Season 5 they didn’t really fight. Only thing Sam won outright was that drinking game. But as with many other characters and circumstances in the show Tory was already a few drinks deep before Sam accepted her challenge. All in all they, like Miguel Robby and Hawk, they are pretty even. And it just depends on the timing and circumstances.
