every kid in my generation watched karate kid, i watched all karate kid movies and now im 37 years old & my life is not going so well now like i would have wished,,,, it caught my attention when you said you can join the cobrakai dojo even if im located outside the US... @@raidernation4life834 Johnny says "Hey watch the car" when he interferes in the fight but you can tell from the looks that he was giving while he was eating his pizza that a part of him wanted to help Miguel. Ultimately, Johnny does end up saving Miguel by teaching him how to get rid of the bullies so yes you can totally compare the two.

Well, I trained taekwondo in the university. My Sabodnim took us to run a Mountain (one hour runing), before start the workout he questioned "Who is suffering asthma here?" Three guys (including me) lifted the hands, then the Sabodnim said "I don't care, if you even try to rest you will fight with me". The asthma never showed up.

I think my favorite part about this series so far is that neither Daniel nor Johnny are being framed as "bad guys." All you see are two adults who are struggling with the issues of adult life, albeit from different angles.

I grew up on late 90s and already is a gold mine for me, I've watched karate kid many times on TV. I've missed this characters on Jackie and Jaden's 2010 version of Karate kid (that should be called Kung Fu Kid or other name, because there's nothing about the original movies)

Not completely. I don't blame kids for being what they are today. Their is a reason for this. It all has to do with a cycle. Hard times create strong men, Strong Men create good times, but Good times create weak men and weak men create hard times. The cycle will eventually repeat.

Man! I'm super late but this show is Everything I needed. Top to bottom it brings nostalgia, humor and purpose. Martial arts especially the traditional arts is a way of life. The lessons reach you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Just as the show does. BRAVO 👏👏👏!

episodes and I am already hooked on this show. I pretty much love contrast in series and Cobra Kai so far has shown a lot of that. The contrast between generations (Johnny and Daniel vs. Miguel and Sam) and the contrast between Johnny as a 'Sensei' and as a 'loser' is pretty funny. In the first episode I thought Daniel was now the bad guy. That was Johnny's POV only. This episode shows a little of Daniel's POV and it reminded me how there are no bad guys or good guys completely, just different perspectives. Their rivalry until this episode is pretty much clear and I am hyped about next episodes. Let's see then.

All 5 of cobra kai series are really brilliant, series 1 will be 5 years next year in 2023. Hope they make series 6 after a big cliffhanger at the end of episode 10 series 5. Love the film trilogy and series.

No me gustaba para nada saber de cobra Kai por qué me quedé en karate kid pero al ver esta serie caray es una serie que vale la pena ver, una enseñanza de vida y excelente producción. La verdad una de las mejores series y eso que a mí no me agradan las series solo películas que tengan inicio y fin pero quise ver esta serie por curiosidad y te atrapa y te hace recordar los 80s la mejor época para muchos. Muy buena serie se las recomiendo totalmente. 👏👏👏👏👏😁

Very interesting character development. I like how they've mixed things up. Johnny is mentoring someone who was bullied, Daniel holds court with the bully in his house. This should be an intriguing dynamic.

I'm already seeing Johnny as the bad guy again. Have you noticed how he's abusing his student so far? First lesson, a kick to the gut. Then he denies the kid his asthma treatment, verbally abuses him during actual training, and has him doing useless tasks that don't teach him anything. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see anything redeeming in this Johnny character.

24:20 this is why I love the show. Daniel hates Johnny. Yet when Johnny tells Daniel his daughter is hanging out with bullies, he believes him. Because Daniel knows Johnny wouldn’t lie about something like that. Same goes for the later episode when Johnny says that his daughter crashed into his car (it was her friends) and the mother at least does the smart thing of challenging her daughter hoping Johnny is wrong, but knowing that an accusation has been made and she needs to address it. It’s a small touch to the characters. But it makes them feel like they are smart well rounded characters.
