This is an absolutely stunning, vast, red squirrel woodland on the Isle of Anglesey (Ynys Môn). The trees are massive, and really, really pretty. Depending on which area you want to enter, you can park down by the beach, on the main A4080 from Newborough (little car park), or you can approach from Cob Malltraeth.
There's so many routes that you can walk through this forest, and if you start from Cob Malltraeth, you can walk all the way through to Newborough beach (traeth Niwbwrch) and Ynys Llanddwyn. It's a bit limited for someone in a manual wheelchair, because while the main path through the forest is very wide and long (which is good), it's also gravel and there's numerous hills to contend with. I struggle a lot, which is a shame as I love this place.
With a powered chair, it would be exceptional!
Filming in Newborough Forest is made very difficult by Natural Resources Wales. Multiple forms to fill out, and fees needed to take off from their land. Their form treats you as though you are filming some epic movie, and is completely unfit for purpose, but if you raise this iss, you are referred back to the form.
So I flew anyway from the public roads, and all flights were done using public access as per drone guidelines. There were no restrictions over the forest and flights followed the law.
