Unfortunately the mainstream music world has no clue what a real musician and talent is. Glad to see Dream Theater get a Grammy finally, it’s a start I guess. I still remember those dumb asses giving Jethro Tull best metal song of the year over Metallica. 😂. Dude isn’t even in the metal genre lol

You cannot be a human being if you can do that one foot blastbeat in 0:49 at such tempo ! Literally unbelievable level of mastery and precision ! The calf muscle is doing a great job right there. I can relate how tight is the spring tension of his pedals 🤯, if he would do some changes and make it more tighter, it might break 😂 Dude you are such a massive inspiration for many technical DM mini drummers out there !! David’s single foot blasts are so metronomically linear. When blasting, I use two feet because I tend to drop in and out of time when blasting on the one foot. My fast double bass is super solid but, for me, the perfect time that my feet keep in unison doesn’t translate to a single foot blast (i.e.) my feet can’t seem to do solo what they achieve with ease together when each foot is playing in between the other’s notes. Edit : Must practice that more.

David’s footwork is sublime. I also love his ride technique when playing fast patterns. He doesn’t merely finger blast like most extreme drummers. He made the technicality of that drum track look effortless. Edit : His songwriting is on another level.
