No Lube..... No . Use the right lube . Hair spray. Same as handle bar grips on a BMX. Make sure to have a hose pick to unstick the boot when you go to take it off. Or go dry with good clamps.

I just have never needed hairspray to do it. If you have quality boots, clamps, and pipes you won't need any of the tricks. To do it, and if you're making enough power for them not to hold you need to seek other options in my opinion. Typically people having issues are using worn out of cheaper parts

I used super glue, can grind it off when the time comes.

@ericpettyfishing have you taken it off at all just to see what the glue does? Does it move at all under the heat just wondering I haven't heard anyone reference doing that. I still respectfully disagree with the practice though lol.
