4. SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Alkimar Sampaio, Colonel of the Brazilian National Police force:
"Colombia has great experience in all these issues: kidnappings, drug cartels fighting, combating the insurgency but above all I think what we are really working on, the model which we are looking to strengthen the most, is that of the 'community police' which is how can we approach our police force to the Brazilian citizens."

6. Colombian instructor and Brazilian female police officer with the media
7. SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Sergeant Jesonim, Sao Paulo Federal Police officer:
"It was hard training, not easy. Here you see their discipline, their technique, their professionalism. Everything is very good here in the Colombian police forces."

STORYLINE
Colombian police finished training some 123 Brazilian officers in special anti-kidnapping and anti-narcotics methods on Saturday.
Colombia is one of the countries in the world with the highest rates of kidnappings, carried out by rebels and criminal groups alike.
Drug-related violence has also been a constant in the country - the main cocaine producer in the continent - for more than four decades.
According to Colombian Colonel Rodrigo Gonzalez, nationwide Brazilian police forces wanted to adopt some methods practiced by Colombian police to help tackle similar problems in Brazil.
The Brazilian officers were trained for five days in Sibate, 20 kilometres (12 miles) south of the capital Bogota.
For captain Alkimar Sampaio of the National Police Force of Brazil, the most interesting part was to follow the Colombian model of "community police", aimed at bringing police forces closer to the average citizen and their needs.
Brazil, which will host the Confederation Cup in 2013 and the World Cup in 2014, is also trying to improve its police forces' performance at mass events.
