Subscribe for videos with my boyfriend! bit.ly/mallow610 Finally got the strength to come out to my mom. My Mom has been extremely supportive. I could not ask for anyone else. Love you :) Every circumstance is different and you will know when the right time to come out is. Stay strong. Babz and I are here for you. :) Note: I decided to post this so that I could share my experience with you. Hopefully it will give hope to those who do not have such supportive families. Also, I know I am on my phone the whole time. My phone is my comfort blanket. I literally cannot put it down when I'm anxious. I do not mean any disrespect to the content or conversation. OH, and she didn't know she was being recorded. I put the camera in a tissue box on top of the refrigerator.

I never realized how accepting my parents are of this stuff... My sister (17 now) came out at like 14, and it wasn't even a deal.... Like at all. Just one day we were sitting watching tv and she started talking about how she likes girls, and I was like "yeah I think I do too!". My dad didn't even really pay attention, he never really said anything about it. And my mom was literally like "yeah I think people love who they love" and that was it. Now she tells me that she thinks maybe she's bi. Like what... We never even "came out". It was just, a normal thing... Its like we told them we were straight or something LOL

+Generalkidd I'm sorry to hear that. Is it ok if I ask what happened? I'm planning on coming out to my parents :s
@Generalkidd
@Generalkidd 8 жыл бұрын
+David Rocha Well my parents seemed pretty iffy on the subject from the start but I held out hope that it might be ok. So one night while watching TV with my parents, I worked up the courage to tell them. They were instantly shocked by it. Both of them had extremely disappointed looks on their faces and my dad just remained silent. My mom kept asking me to clarify and then wanted to make sure I knew what I was talking about. Then my mom basically started going on a lecture about how I was wrong, just confused, AIDS, and so on. They threw gay stereotypes at me to try to dissuade me and so on. Much like the guy in this video, I pulled out my phone and just kept checking it while my parents kept going on and on. I really wanted to get out of their at that point. I found my phone's license agreement to be the most comforting thing that night to be honest. The more and more my parents went on, the more of me kept dying on the inside. Eventually, I had enough and went to my room to go to sleep. My parents were in there room arguing with each other, trying to place blame. I pretty much cried myself to sleep that night. My parents would barely speak to me for weeks after that. They forbid me from telling anyone else in the family too. It didn't help that I lost most of my friends at the time too when they found out through a separate incident. I was basically forced back in the closet completely and wouldn't come out again to anyone until many years later when I started college. I was in a pretty dark place at the time, and there was pretty much a don't ask don't tell policy in my family. There still is today (6 years later). I have new friends now who are very supportive though. My parents just basically act like it never happened and probably hope it was just a phase or something. I know eventually i'll have to bring it up to my parents again, but I'll wait until I have a boyfriend to do that. Even though it's been over 6 years, I'm not ready to go through that again just yet. I guess I should just be grateful that it could've gone a lot worse. I wish you the best of luck coming out to your parents. My advice to you would be that if your parents seem iffy on the subject, then be prepared for a lot of drama, possibly even a worst case scenario. But even if it doesn't go well, things will eventually get better and you'll surely find more supportive people along the way.

+Generalkidd hi i am a girl and my pearents are kind of in a unusual situation when it comes to this subject and me they are so convinced that i am a lesbian evan my sister who i bearly talk too and the annoying thing is they only started kind of teasing me about it a little while after i got my hair cut short like a boy which is leading me to belive that that is the mane reason! the whole situation is making me evan more confused than i already was about my sexuality i evan started taking lots of quizes online about my sexualitys gosh that is embarrasing anyway i am really wondering who i am? please could you give me any of the amazing advice you gave that other boy
@Generalkidd
@Generalkidd 8 жыл бұрын
+Edith Owen If you're not sure about you're sexuality yet, then no need to rush to come out or anything. If you can't ever picture yourself with a guy, then you're likely lesbian. You may also be bisexual. It really depends on your feelings. It took me awhile to accept that I was gay, I also did a lot of research online and took some quizzes to get an idea. Eventually I determined there was no doubt I'm gay. It seems like your parents and family would be really accepting of you if you were lesbian or bisexual since they sound so open to the idea of you being a lesbian. But don't feel pressured to come out to them or anything. Wait until you're absolutely sure of your sexuality. Everyone has their own way of figuring out their sexuality. It's not always black and white for a lot of people. Hope that helps!

Generalkidd thank you so much this really helps getting somebody elses opinion and i was thinking about it and i am not sure i could see myself with a guy but as you said i am just going to not rush it and i will see what happens. If it is okay with you i would be so happy if you would not mind me messeging you another time about this sort of stuff and of course if you want to talk about anything i mean anything really it could just be what you ate for lunch then that would be lovely!

I cried when I watched this video because it reminded me of the day I told my mom, and her reaction was so similar and full of love. Her biggest concern too, was the world and how I would be treated. My mom vowed to protect me and always did until God called her home on March 1, 2007. Her body was found in a dumpster, where she was left by the man who raped and beat her to death. I miss my mom, and the thought of life without her is...I just cannot imagine it. Seven years later the pain and loss has not eased, but seeing your Mom reminded me of mine, and I love your mom so much for being kind and embracing you the way she did. I wish you both all the happiness in the world. Mothers like ours are what make this world bearable.

Joe. I know this is several years after you put up your text, but I just read it today, and I wanted to tell you that I am so sorry to read about your mom. What a horrible thing for you to experience. I felt so bad when I read this. I am an older man, but I really never came out. To me, this is one thing that I really don't want anyone to know. I'd rather keep it to myself. However, I think my mom probably would have been like this mom. My mom was very open about life and i never heard her say bad things about anyone. She had a rough life, having come from England after WW2. She and her family came with nothing! Later, she married a man who also came here after the war, but he was German! My mom couldn't have kids, so I was adopted. I couldn't have asked for better parents. They told me that I was adopted when I was 6, and told me how special I was because I was chosen. I never had a hang up about being adopted, because I always thought that these people wanted me when no one else did. My dad died when I was 12, so my mom and I got even closer. Later, after college and when my life was in full swing, I did what everyone else did back then to "cover up" - i got married. Had two boys. Then in the early 1990s, my wife and two boys were killed in a car crash when a drunk in a big truck hit them. Then my mom and I became best friends. We lived together, because she was getting older. I finally had to put her in a nursing home in the late 1990s, as she had Alzheimer's, and almost burned the house down. Doing that was almost as difficult as burying my family. She died in 2003. And like you, I still miss her terribly. I have had some serious health issues due to cancer treatments, and when I am down and feel terribly sick, or I am facing more surgery, God, I wish I could pick up the phone and talk to her, or have her hold my hand while in the hospital. I am all alone, as I have no family left. All dead. So I can share your feelings. I know how you miss your mom. There's something about a mom that no one can replace. But my faith keeps me strong, and I know one day we'll all be together, and she will , again, recognize me. I'll will end this before it gets too long. You take care and keep your head held high! Oh, and one more thing, I LOVE trains. I have several thousand $ worth of model trains in three China closets, and many more sitting around. From "N" scale up to "G" scale!

I'd be so happy if my mom and siblings were so open minded like the mom in the video, so they could accept me the way I am and understand that it's NOT a choice. But I fear they will never open their minds to try to understand.. And the biggest problem is that their religion is aways making them hate more and more people like me, and it brings me down everytime I hear them saying it's a disease or evil possesion. If they only knew that I'm gay, they would maybe understand how much it hurts..

No it's not fucking normal! You will burn in the bowels of hell! Save yourself and reach out to the light of Jesus Christ our savior! Just kidding. Yeah there's no such thing as "normal". Whoever you're attracted to is the right one for you. Just be yourself and don't ever be ashamed of what you feel.

You've got a wonderful mom! Very often, the fear of telling it is bigger than what ever may come as a reaction. When I came out to my Mom, I asked her to come with me for a walk. We sat down on a bench. Then, I said (it's 20 years ago now, but I still know it like it has been yesterday): "Mom. I need to tell you something. Long Pause. I am gay". She instantly said "Oh, yes. And now?". I answered: "Mom, I think you didn't understand. I am homosexual. A queer. A sissy. A butt fucker ...". She stopped me, saying: "Stop, stop. I've got it". She never had a problem with it. Knowing that made my life a lot easier. *** I love you Mom! ***

Watching this video is always so calming for me. The first time I watched it was about two weeks before I came out to my Mother, and it was one of the most nerve wracking things I've ever experienced. It will be five years since the big day on December 19th. I plan on posting my own coming out video sometime this month, and hopefully it will help someone else. I watched a lot of these videos beforehand, and they really helped me come to terms with who I was as a person. Love you, Dan!
