Yeah its an archenemy style commander. I dont personally love things at this power level but I realize that they do exist and you do run into them. First step is just to be aware so at least you can reach for a stronger deck yourself.

Emissary Green seems like the watered down version if you'd like to try Voja Minus

I like brewing and playing cedh decks. Voja is one word off from being busted. If he said humans instead of elves or wolves the deck would have been insane

@@hellNo116 I still think its pretty busted. I bet you could make a cedh list with it if you were determined enough and sank the time in.

@@CommanderReplay the effect and the commander is stupid. but chulane as a creature commander that actively participates in the combo lines of the deck is not enough to make a good deck in cedh. which sounds insane, but it is true. there are brewers that specialize in this style of deck. tayam brothers are good example of players that can take a beats deck and have good results. however the deck can't be a strong deck in general. it lacks blue for starts and the combos are expensive and the commander doesn't participate in them. i hope i am proven wrong. i love combat based cedh commanders, but i doubt it will be a successful commander in the format.

@@CommanderReplay Maskwood Nexus is an excellent card for decks that like multiple creature types. I plag it in my Rin and Seri deck. Feed the Pack seems like an auto include for Voja, as well.

It doesn't reach cEDH levels. High power for sure and it's in an awkward spot, too good for casual mid pods and not good enough for the highest tables

Yeah the list i imported had like 8 tutors and hoofs. I changed it to my own liking and cut the hoof and tutors, but yeah if thats your speed this is a good place for it.

Yeah its absolutely disgusting. Very strong. Full elves with a few changeling type cards for the strongest version.

That works, but he didn't really have much of a payoff for it in hand. Showdown of the Skalds cost most of his nongreen mana.

I think he could have gotten an infinitely large turean Mauler with haste, played his commander, taken out zombie with the infinitely large Mauler and held up heroic intervention after combat. Would've cut the chance of a boardwipe, removed a player, established himself as archenemy, and had protection for a piece of spot removal/another boardwipe.

@@riverketcherside1256 Oh, right, the Mauler. Yeah, that does seem better. But tedious to execute on MTGO and maybe not great for content.

That is a surprisingly difficult question to answer. It depends on each product. Fall out won’t be coming, 40k was released like a week ago. Some and some aren’t, it’s basically just chaos.

If Sean lands that Path it buys you guys another turn. I think Sean said he had more board wipes to go. The game would have been afoot due to the heroic intervention.

I always wanted to start a series where I talk about how to defeat the strongest commanders. I would need to face this one a few times though.

Silent arbiter and tax on attack effects neuter this fairly well. Stopping triggered abilities and etbs also nueters it pretty hard.

1 Board wipe, and 1 failed spot removal spell, and 1 successful against our commander. Ive played games with much less removal than that. We just rebuilt so well from the board wipe that it didnt even really matter.

I think I had 10 total mana so was only counting X 8 but id have to double check. There was sequence stuff I could have done differently.

I’d agree with this. Yeah it didn’t need to be THAT strong AND have ward. Seems like overkill.

Ward is the worst. You obviously never seen hexproof

​@@dmany13I like Ward, but it definitely feels weird from an EDH perspective. They give all these already ridiculous KoS commanders Ward because they're so strong and prone to removal, which then... makes them even more annoying. Makes the play patterns so stupid - dude taps out and has a free mana leak built into his commander, so people spend their entire turn in a multiplayer game setting themselves behind to kill something that either snowballs or returns in a single turn...

Because elves go brrrrr
