1971...right before Schlitz ruined itself and their beer. They opted to "force brew" their beer vs opening up more breweries to keep up with demand. By the end of the decade, they were pretty much destroyed. My late Dad worked for them almost 20 years.

I actually meant to add that, I must have been tired when I wrote it. Schlitz went back to their original formula, and what you buy now is basically what they were serving "back when". There was a time in between however, when Schlitz was the shi..... nevermind.

my dad was working for Schlitz in Longview Texas when I was born. He then got transferred to the Schlitz brewery in Winston Salem North Carolina that opened in 1970. He was one of the people that opened that brewery and start it up. Does anyone know if Schlitz is still around and if the Schlitz brewery in Winston Salem is still a brewery?

Let me change this: Complex chord "progressions". The chords themselves are mostly straight major or minor chords, but the way they progress is a lot more interesting than your usual three-chord rock'n'roll.

Schlitz USED to make a great beer. Then they changed their formula. It ruined Schlitz.

One thing: *Man*, is there some *music* going on here, in contrast to the EXTRERM minimalism you get today which sounds like it took less time to come up with it than to play it. Every note in every player's part here got serious attention. There's a constant procession of complex chords and melodic ideas. Derivative and outdated, yes, but at least it's intelligent. Where's our version of this? (Watch us "solve" the problem as usual, by making an inferior version of this old stuff.)
