There is a screen in front of the radiator. It is under the hose that goes to the air breather. All you need to do is move the hose and pull the screen strait up. You should also blow the dirt out of the grill and side panel openings. Let me know if this fixes it.

I had a neighbor with that same model and same overheat issue. I pulled the radiator and washed the outside of it. I have never seen a radiator so plugged up as this one was!

You’re so very right Captain. Why just be satisfied doing something correct the first time. Do it twice for double the fun. I need to say thank you for saying you were bush NOT brush hogging as it is called on a certain other channel (DP) from Derby Indiana.

I know this is four years later, so I'm sure you already know what the air filter restriction gauge is for. I've seen those on a lot of the military equipment I worked on during my 20 years in the Air Force (been retired since 2016). It just tells you how much air flow is being restricted through the air filter and indicating if the filter/filters are clean or dirty. The red button is the reset button for when you clean or change out the filter/filters. Reading through the comments, I saw a lot of the same thoughts I had on what could possibly be the cause of the overheating. Considering the conditions the tractor is used in, a clogged radiator or the screen would be my first check.

If your water pump, fan (if it has one) and cooling system are flowing and working properly, the most likely cause of pushing coolant like that is a blown head gasket. Just an educated guess from a diesel mechanic.

Have you considered changing the thermostat it should have one. Or putting an auxiliary fan on outside of the radiator.

Check behind the grill and front of the radiator for restricted air flow.

Is the front of the radiator clogged with debris?

Not sure if you figured out why it's overheating yet but I second what was previously said about taking the screen out that's in front of the radiator and blowing it out. If that doesn't work then remove the thermostat and verify that it works in a pot on the stove. The cooling system on these tractors are hard to bleed, I have one myself. The only way to ensure it is bled 100% is to drain all coolant, with the t-stat removed fill the block of the engine first through the t-stat hole. When it's full, put t-stat back in and tighten housing back down then fill the rad

Add the other wheel to your bush hog? Because the tractor is tired of carrying more weight on one side? (And, pick up a water pump while you are shopping.)

Check the screen behind the radiator make sure it isn't clogged. Otherwise I'd say it's your thermostat.

could be the ; thermostat, loose belt (they will slip and not make noise some times), water pump, or plugged rad. check belt and debris on the rad first, rad could also be full of dirt around the fins, then thermostat, check / remove pump last. push in on the "air filter restriction indicator " to reset it. does it have one or two elements in the air filter, if two change it every second time, it is a safety/ back up filter in case the outer one tears. hope this helps

salty 101 that’s good advice about the air filter. I need to do a follow up. I didn’t know this model had an inner screen under the hood directly in front of the rad. It was packed solid. Cleaned it out and haven’t had a problem since!

@@CaptainKleeman I have a 755 that I pulled out of a field with honeysuckle growing around it a few years ago. Had about 800 hours on it when it was parked in or around 07. Cleaned it up, new battery, replaced all the fluids, and started right up. It now gets about 200 hours a year on it without any issues. The 55 series CUT are tanks, wouldn't even trade it for a new 2025.

Additional to the other comments below and From cold, and radiator cap off see it your getting continuous bubbles coming up to the cap. This could be result of exhaust gases over pressurising / boiling system..... aka Head gasket

Do you know how to get the "creeping" out of the drive? My 755 wants to move backward when in neutral (foot off the pedals). Any others on the site know ?
@CaptainKleeman
@CaptainKleeman 3 жыл бұрын
Tip Sanders creeping is just the nature of the beast with the 55 hydrostatic series. I always have to ground the loader or implement to get it to sit still

+Dexter Bone I need to do an update video on it. Actually, learned that there is an inner screen just forward of the radiator under the hood. It was packed with debris from bush Hogging. Took an air hose and then a garden hose and cleaned it out real well. Seems to be okay for now. Fingers crossed!

ya know, every machine i have ever owned that had overheating trouble i would fool with it for a year or so. and then dammit ma i would say enough. i would then buy a new radiator and install it. hey it works fine now. like new. why do we do this. for me the squeaky wheel gets replaced.

"Filter Minder" "Donaldson Gauge" or Filter Restriction Gauge. Radiator clogged? Need blown out? Or an few more up downs on the brake lever. Actually, I think it's up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A and you get full power again.

The air filter gauge has a rubber button on the top. Push it to reset it and as far as the overheating I would bet the radiator fins a blocked up and allowing little or no air flow through the rad. I am sure you know all this by now though.
