Hi, quick question - is there a reason you only consider stem and hat lights? What about other designs like Volt's pagoda or their more modern, Modernelle light? I don't understand the difference other than the design. (Great channel and course, btw! thank you!)

Great question and thank you! The design is the main difference. Most people don't like the look of the other lights. However, the pagoda lights are terrible. I would NEVER recommend those. Too dim and many times have problems down the road.

When laying out path lights along a fence line, how far apart do you space them?

I purchased aluminum versions of the middlemost light in your comparison. It is a Kichler brand fixture with an architectural bronze finish. I currently have five fixtures in my backyard which I installed this last summer and plan to install another 10 next year. I was able to purchase the lights for roughly $53 apiece but recently found a deal to get the centennial bronze version for $100 each. Not sure that I want to spend the extra amount but what are your thoughts on upgrading to the bronze I don’t know if I will be in my house forever and some of the past aluminum landscape lights I’ve had have held up really well. I anticipate maybe having to repaint them after several years? Overall, they seem like a great fixture with the weakest point being a plastic 8 inch stake

on one side of my house its just vinyl siding, no windows or other features, pretty plain and we have small plants along the side enclosed by some bullet edging. I want to put some lights along that side but not sure if i should use path lights like these or up lighting since there isn't any features to highlight on the side of the home, just doing to bring some light to the dark area around the home. Thoughts?

I would use up lights. Space them out about 10feet apart and put 3-4. Because its a plain wall, it won't look exciting, but you'll have light.

I have the path light and one of the light went out,it doesn’t use a bulb,it like your third one mine with a cover around the bulb

One more question, what is a good brand of RGB+W landscape lighting...all i see are cheap amazon sets.

I have a video come out Monday on the Volt lighting color lights. If you want something more expensive and higher quality than Volt, then I can make a video on that.

No info on the brands. I typically go Hinkley or FX but would have been nice to know which brands are a better bang for the buck as these are expensive.

Sorry about that! They are Kichler, Pro-Trade, Elitco, Volt, and FX Yes, Hinkley and FX are expensive.

@@aklighting8292 what's your take on all the pro trade lights. In general do you have a go to brand that you install.? ( not just talking path lights )

@@bakerzac22 I like the protrade brand. I would go with their brass lights over the aluminum, the aluminum last about 5-10 years. My go to brand is called Sterling Lights, which is a professional grade, high quality light.
