dude, you can’t even imagine how safe any Russian city looks compared to the USA. You need to come to Russia and see for yourself. Many Americans have never left the United States and think that the whole world is like America. But this is a huge misconception. Life in Russia is much safer than in the USA, there is no dirt, homeless people or drug addicts.

@@Mrskess Our mainstream media basically parrots Western propaganda/narrative but without the hawkishness/russophobia that you see in most US and European media. I'd say our msm has a more subtle approach, but not that different from what you see in Europe. Brazil, just like pretty much all of Latin America, has always been under heavy Western (especially American) influence. There are people here who support or are sympathetic to Ukraine, but there are also quite a lot of people who know what has been happening there since 2014 and support Russia. There are also people who are more concerned with their day-to-day problems/our country's problems or simply don't care enough to take sides on this. I don't know which group is the biggest here, but I can tell you for sure that most Brazilians want Brazil to remain neutral and not get directly involved unless there are negotiations that we could help mediate, so the decision of our former (Bolsonaro) and current (Lula) president to not send weapons to Ukraine is backed by the vast majority of us.

Vast areas of grey, lifeless architecture have been replaced by a colourful, modern, life-friendly atmosphere. It must feel very good for the local population. It's just a shame and regrettable what circumstances had to occur to make this change possible. My thoughts are still with the victims, civilians and soldiers of both warring parties. It is barely two years since the fierce and costly fighting in Mariupol...

Mariupol wasn't "Ukrainian" but "Soviet" up to 1990. It became "UKrainian" after 1990. It wasn't "Ukraine" that built the Azovstall and Ilych factory and the Kakhovka dam etc, it was the huge country of USSR of which Ukraine was only a part. So, comparisons of Ukraine-Russia buildings should be made only for buildings erected after 1990.

That may be true but Ukrainians also helped build the soviet union outside of Ukraine. After the fall of the Soviet Union everybody agreed to respect the international borders. Putin broke this agreement. Think about this.... The world is full of magnificent roads, railways, universities, government buildings, dams, water treatment plants ect...... All built by the British during the colonial era do they belong to Britain?

One of the nice things is everyone benefits from this project, people in mariupol get rebuildings, renovations and improvements for free, the government gets even more support from donbas citizens, and Russian businesses and workers get work and money from the government contracts. The morale boost is often overlooked in endeavors like this

Houses, roads, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, etc. are being rebuilt everywhere. Each region of Russia took custody of a locality and sent there builders, equipment and materials for restoration.

if its already declared a green zones by russian authorities, i believed, they will start the remake/rebuild/remodel/restore it back. if its still red/grey/orange/yellow, surely need to wait for it. cant do the work at adviika, bakhmut & other cities because its not safe yet

Интересно, места уникально выбраны, асфальт почти не затронут, однако уже много вижу на других каналах сколько асфальта восстановлено. Многие утверждают, что за последние 30 с лихвой лет, столько дорожного полотна сделано не было.

I don't remember if I posted this kind of response before but here it goes. As someone who lives there and knowing the past of this city overall does one see this city economy see this over in time being after this conflict being a more mix economy with industry, tourism, trade etc or focus on what it was build up to be since the Soviet times being a industrial leaning settlement? How would that impact the locals there as well as the overall economy? And does one think the local of this era can adjust to that change after this is over?

Mariupol was rebuilt quicker than actual development here in Manila right now. The only major development here in Manila are condominiums for the rich and NO major housing project for the masses. Here in my hometown south of Manila (Las Piñas City) there's two condominiums under construction. One of condominiums under construction sits on a property that was land grabbed from its real owner. Eight years ago when that property was under the real owner there's a message written on its concrete fence 'Not for Sale by Wilson Tan Dy'. You know the richest companies or individuals here in the Philippines can steal your property by force either using security forces or simply blackmailing owners to giving up those properties.

These buildings are getting the first repairs since the Soviet Union days. Literally, Ukraine left sooo many cities in neglect since 1991. Menof Mariupol including yourself can walk freely without being kidnapped by Ukrainian police and thrown to the frontlines to die. Mariupol days will be greater under Russia

Дорогие Мариупольцы! Пожалуйста, воздержитесь от "улучшения" лоджий и балконов самодеятрльным остеклением и прочим самостроем. Сейчас город выглядит аккуратно, дома не трущобные, а вполне нормального вида. Если вы любите свой город, то постарайтесь не ухудшать то, что сейчас делается по восстановлению инфраструктуры, и внешнего вида домов и улиц. Больше деревьев, больше цветников, больше детских площадок! И конечно, когда появится настроение и возможности, то было бы здорово украсить торцевые стены домов муралами-работами художников, специализирующихся на таких проектах. Мариуполь может стать очень красивым, уютным , благоустроенным городом, если вы будете придерживаться общей идеи визуального пространства города. Всего самого доброго вам, друзья!

Thank you a lot for this comparative video! I have been one of those suggesting you do such a comparative study. It is very informative, yet it' just the beginning of a big change which is already speaking for people of Russian Mariupol and Russia itself. Under Kyiv's rule, Mariupol was so much left in disrepair and rubble. Clearly, housing estates, yards, parking spaces, green areas, pavements, streets, road crossings, had been so dirty, ugly, without a true host, manager and without proper financing. I specifically do not like air condition boxes fixed chaotically to facades, open balconies - under the same chaotic and neglectful manner - turned to storages and ugly places, along with so called 'green areas' full of dirt and rainwater used for aggressive and disorganised parking of all sorts of vehicles and placing all sort of steel/wooden/plastic garage boxes. These are the emblems of very poor living, poverty, lack of management, cooperation, caring for public space and looking exclusively after one's own, specific, business, disregarding others. It is so good to see the revival of Mariupol: overhauled buildings and new constructions, new green spaces, overhauled pavements, streets, promenades and much more. Do care for your living place, for quality, for cooperation with others in Mariupol nad all across Russia, do care for your city. It's so good to track these changes into better and do help secure, they are permanent. I'd be glad to see more, more insights into the good change versus the state of disrepair uder Kyiv's rule decades. May Mariupol-on-Azov Sea become a grand, beautiful place to live for happy people of Maripol of Russia.

Johnson justified the need to supply weapons to the Armed Forces with the words: «Russia cannot be allowed to win, otherwise the West will lose hegemony over the world.» Zelensky, in an interview with NBC News, said: «The US army now does not need to fight defending NATO countries. Ukrainians are doing this. And the civilized world only provides ammunition, and I think this is a good solution.» American Senator Lindsey Graham bluntly said that Kiev should fight to the last Ukrainian. Thus, the United States inclines Ukraine to fight with Russia for the hegemony of the United States over the world and the protection of U.S. property in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian. Only Ukrainians themselves can stop the war by agreeing to the neutral position of the country. The reason for the war lies in the United States. The United States does not need competition from strong countries: Russia, China and even Europe. They need a monopolar world, i.e. the US hegemony over the world. The initial goal of the United States was to destroy the huge industrial potential of Ukraine, which it inherited after the collapse of the USSR and use Ukraine as a tool against Russia, actively conducting anti-Russian propaganda of the population. Robert Kennedy admitted: «The US Agency for International Development, which is a cover for the CIA, invested five billion dollars in the Maidan in Ukraine. This led to a coup d'etat!» Over the past 30 years, after Ukraine gained independence, the United States has funded opposition forces by putting puppet governments in power, up to the inclusion of its foreign nationals in the government. As a result of government corruption, Ukraine ruined its industry at the root and completely turned into a raw material appendage of the West, i.e. the original goal of the United States has been fulfilled. The next goal of the United States is to force the European Union to impose sanctions against Russia and thereby weaken not only Russia, but also Europe - at the expense of soaring energy prices, force it to move its industry to the United States, break up the Russian Federation and also turn it into its raw material appendage. The ultimate goal is to force China to cede its position in the world market by military means, which cannot be realized without weakening Russia.
