in this video I show you how to use polyurethane floor paint on a huge warehouse concrete floor:
A polyurethane paint is hardwearing highly-resistant coating used in industrial and architectural coating systems for concrete steelworks wood and other substrates its is a reaction poly resin and an Isocyate hardener or a curing agent essentially a polyurethane coating is a liquid plastic which dries to form a paint like film on a substrate, polyurethane paint provides durability, resistant to chemicals water abrasion and temperature as well as giving an attractive glossy finish.
Polyurethane is quick drying and easy to use
5 Pro Tips:
1: make sure surface area your painting is dry and dust free
2: always stir paint before using
3: when using a roller work in straight lines.
4: work in a well ventilated area
5: clean brushes/roller straight after using them
Health and safety:
Face mask
Eye protection
Gloves
No smoking
Work in well ventilated area

Fantastic and informative video thank you. I’ve ordered the same brand of paint for my garage floor. Can I ask you a question please? My concrete garage floor is new. I’ve purposely left it several months to make sure that it’s properly cured. With it being a new concrete garage floor, would you recommend a polyurethane sealant prior to painting?

Thank you very much Neil for your kind words 👍👍 yeah its ideal for your concrete floor in your garage, and to answer your question Neil I didn't use any sealant or primer before I used the polyurethane floor paint and I did have some relatively new concrete to cover as long as the concrete has cured enough witch in my case was a couple of weeks then you should be fine you can use polyurethane on new concrete, just remember to do at least 2 coats this gets the best results hope it turns out good for you Neil it's great paint to use it rolls on nice, I've done afew warehouse floors now and had no problems, thanks for stopping by the vid and pleased I could be of help 👍👍👌.

Brilliant job! Wondering if polyurethane paint such as you are using here is better than epoxy paint for a cement porch exposed to the elements: cold, rain, snow etc.?

Thanks for watching kris 👍 polyurethane paint is so good man its waterproof, resistant to uv light, and is also hard wearing all depends on what your painting epoxy paint is really good to ,I used the polyurethane paint on a concrete industrial floor and turned out perfect, also all depends on your budget, but both do a really fantastic job, thanks for stopping by the vid appreciate it mate 👍👍👍 .

Did you thin down the first coat with white spirit (10%)? I ask as that was recommended to me for the first coat to help it key to the concrete. Looks smart, hope mine comes up as well.

Nick pinder thanks for stopping by the vid man👍👍👍 don't do it for the best results you do not water down trust me the paint is not that thick anyway, go with what is in the tin it's not like new plaster and you got to do a miss coat concrete is completely different to that it likes the coating of paint it absorbs it nicely definitely don't water it down mate 💯 just go with what you got some one is giving bad advice there mate use it straight from the tin just remember to give it a nice mix up first 👍👍 👈

Nice work! What’s the best primer to use under neath it ? I was told you don’t need primer But I’m having second thoughts and wondering if it would last longer with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats on polyurethane ? Thanks in advance 🙌

Thanks for stopping by the vid Damian v nice one mate 👍👍 ,yeah using a primer is a really good idea mate all depends on what paint your using plus what traffic will be going over it a really good primer is the resincoat epoxy primer and can be used on various surfaces yeah go with one coat primer 2 coats of paint you carnt go wrong then mate 👍👍👊.

Great video mate, thank you for showing everyone. I have a 5m x 5m garage. How much would I need to do the job with 2 coats? And how long should I wait to do the 2nd coat? Thank you

Great video. How has the paint held up in the last year?? Wondering how well it would deal with heavy duty equipment in a photography studio?

Thank you very much Jonny nice one mate 👍👍I haven't actually been back to give you a proper diagnosis but I do know that the paint is very good and withstands alot of wear and tear it all depends on how much traffic is going over it mate especially using a forklift truck or something like that definitely give it 2 coats min even a third won't do it no harm , plus if you have abit left over store it away for a later date and freshen up on any areas that are showing wear and tear, have a well vented area when your painting let the fumes out yeah and make sure its probably dry before travelling over it hope this helps a little bit mate and good luck 👍👍👊.

Did you just hoover down the concrete? No need for deep clean or any floor prep? Can just apply this paint straight in top? Thanks

Thanks for stopping by the vid mate nice one 👊 I always prep the floor mate it's part of the procedure I follow you got to get the best results from the paint I'd say the prep work is the most important part of the job, yeah I hovered the whole area it didn't take to long I got rid of any dust and grit that had blown in , thanks for your feedback mate appreciate it 👊.

How resiliant is this paint with cars driving on it? I have seen this paint on sale and wondered if you need primer or clear ontop? Or just apply direct

RB AUTOWORKS thanks for stopping by the vid appreciate it👍 I give that warehouse 2 coats of polyurethane paint it needs to dry properly before any traffic can go over it , after drying light traffic will be ok but if you have a busy garage with cars coming in day after day it will start to take the layers of paint off , all depends what's going over it , the paint can be applied without the need for a primer, but if you have a busy garage it's probably not the paint for you, because of the heavy traffic coming in and out saying that you can always give it a freshen up now and again, not trying to put you off the paint is well durable, thanks for your comment 👍👍.

How long did you leave between coats?

Thanks for stopping by the vid mate nice one 👍 I would leave the coats to dry probably 2 days in-between, I needed to walk on the paint to do a second coat so it needs to be not tacky, a small area you don't have to walk on then 24hours will be OK Thanks and hope this helps 👍👊

Hi mate 👊 that's a very good question I would say probably not a good idea normally when you have the printed driveway done you can choose a colour you like there's plenty to choose from its in the concrete there for nothing on the surface driveways get alot of traffic and over time that will strip the paint Polyurethane paint is ideal for warehouses show rooms garages so on and so forth thanks for your feedback and very good question nice one mate and thanks for stopping by the vid 👍 👍👊

Yeah mate leaves a really nice finish not to sure about high gloss finish but it is what it is I think it leaves a very good standard finish overall thanks for taking the time to watch the video mate nice one appreciate it alot 👍 👊

Hi bryan 👊 with this polyurethane paint there's no need to prime mate I thought the same I used it straight out the tin , you will need to do at least 2 coats though mate thanks for stopping by the vid and very good question nice one mate 👍 👊

@@sonnybryan07 the colour was just grey mate I'm sure they do different colours to I liked using it, nice and quick and affective you will have to give it a couple of days before you can walk on it as not to defect the surface give it time, good luck with your project mate 👍👍👊

Thanks for stopping by the vid mate 👊 I only know it as polyurethane floor paint you can use an alternative such as an epoxy resin paint which is really good and comes in different colours all depends on what your painting mate 👍👊.

@@mimranarshadmani8893 All I know mate is the main 3 are pmma pu and epoxy the pmma is more heat resistant as for supplies in Pakistan I have no idea mate I'm uk 👍👊
