PVA really helps prior to plastering otherwise wall sucks the moisture out of the new plaster and you get cracks like that. I must admit I try not to use an angle grinder (tempting though it is) as it takes days to get all the dust out the room plus tight fitting mask rather than cheap paper ones a must. Hammer and bolster definately more hard work but less fine dust.

@@Ralphs-House Yeah 💯 pva will definitely bond the area mate without a doubt but didn't need it on this job as the mix I used was no need to pva or prime the area but yeah your 💯 spot on in what you say, and thanks for your feedback mate appreciate that alot all the best mate 👍 🫡 👊

@creativecrambo7 күн бұрын
Thanks for stopping by the vid 👌👊 yeah I'd put a dust sheet down on the existing floor when your filling the gaps so the filler don't go on the floor plastic or material 👊

You don’t need to sand / just get a bucket of hot water and dish soap the door clean and buy a can of self primer and 2 cans of the finished colour / and take out the windows / it took me a day and it looked great and 6 years down the road it’s still faultless
@skelly79024 күн бұрын
Really informative video. Thanks for that. Just followed your instructions and replaced a rotted door jamb in the cellar. It had been nailed on with giant Victorian brad things, but the new one has five concrete easy drive screws holding it. It isn't plumb, but neither is the rest of the house. Place looks like they used a cat on the end of a length of rope as a line.

Is the primer just concrete glue? What is the fiber has to do with bonding? You need to vibrate the new concrete for a better surface to surface adhesion.
